  William Grantham, age 9 of Colchester, Essex (UK), monstrous creation called "Abzorbaloff" won the competition by the Blue Peter television show to create a new Doctor Who monster. The "Abzorbaloff" absorbs its victims and will now be featured in the series with David Tennant and Billie Piper.
The contest drew in 43,920 entries, a new record since 1993 for Blue Peter. The judges panel consisted of David Tennant (the 10th Doctor) and Russell T Davies (executive producer and lead writer) of Doctor Who.
