EditorialsAfter reading Sean Huxter's excellent Doctor Who Photo-story, I've been surfing around for other decent Doctor Who fan ficton.

Obviously it goes without saying that fan-films are a huge part of science fiction in general - particularly so of mainstream series like Star Wars. This ranges from things that are entriely comedic in nature to serious fan films. Most of these films now have excellent production values considering budget, largely thanks to the computing revolution of recent years.

One of the most popular databases for fan films is that of fanfilms.net, so if you are looking for a wide variety of fan films this should be your first port of call. Currently the Doctor Who Section of this site has 95 films listed.

From this site I managed to find a local studio called Westlake Films, who are based in Sowerby Bridge here in West Yorkshire. They are a group of Whovians who get together frequently to produce funny films based on the Doctor Who universe. Particularly good is a series called Star Trek VS. Doctor Who, which as the name suggests, pits two of the most popular sci-fi series in order to determine which is the best of all time. I thought that the scenes with the inflatable daleks were hilarious!

Another particularly good story is that of the Nemesis of Doom where we see the ninth Doctor and his unknown companion roaming the streets of Yorkshire, closely followed by the Master. It's all good fun and makes good viewing when you have a few minutes spare. Anyway - check it out and let me know what you think.

So far I love the new Dr Who. I came in midseason
watching it on the CBC. I hope to catch up with reruns.
I have watched over the years about every Dr Who I could see.

I really like the classic shows. The sets might be laughed at but that adds to the enjoyment of the show to me.
It's the SciFi's channel's loss not to air it. Do you see the junk they put on at times and call quality or even SciFi? I don't kow where their heads are.

My big question about the new Dr Who show is when did Gallifrey get destroyed? Are we going to see it in some show? I can't believe I missed it prior!
The Closter Bell should of rung and brought all the Dr Who's back to prevent it.

Having Sara Jane come back is great news and so is K9.
MY favorite was the 5 Doctors when they all got together to
defeat the Master. Something like that would be nice again.

James, thanks for posting the links to the other fan films relating to Doctor Who, it is good to see what others are cooking up with our favourite Timelord.
