General NewsLegendary movie director Robert Wise passed away September 14th at 91 years old.

His body of work is incredible. Directing The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), Run Silent Run Deep (1958), West Side Story (1961), The Sound of Music (1965), The Sand Pebbles (1966), The Andromeda Strain (1971), Audrey Rose (1977), and of course Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979). 40 motion pictures in all. He was also a producer and began his career as an editor where he worked on a little know film called Citizen Kane (1941).

An amazing career for a perfect gentlemen. He will be sadly missed.

How sad... A great loss for the film community. In honour of his memory, while I am at my office I am playing the soundtrack for ST:TMP on my iPod.
