    Doctor Who News

During the Pride of Britain Awards, Christopher Eccleston presented Cameron Weir with the Child of Courage award as a double life-saver.

Cameron, then 12 was in a 4x4 vehicle with his mum, dad, 10 year old sister Rosie, and 7 year old brother Mac when the car his dad was driving hit a metal barrier and plunged down a hill into the water, landing upside down.

Cameron unfastened his seat-belt and swam through the broken window to the surface. Realizing he was the first to escape, he took a deep breath of air and returned to the underwater wreck to rescue Mac first, then again for Rosie who has severe mental and physical disabilities.

"I was scared, but it was all happening too fast, and I didn't really think about what I was doing," Cameron stated.

Actions surely that would make the Doctor himself very proud of Cameron. For the complete story, see: The Mirror: THE PRIDE OF BRITAIN AWARDS: CAMERON'S A SAVIOUR AT THE DOUBLE
