If you visit the BBC - Doctor Who web site tonight, you will be greeted by a logo in the same style as "Doctor Who" but instead it reads "Torchwood" with the further information below it reading "Summer 2006 | BBC Three | Starring John Barrowman | Created by Russell T Davies."
What is this all about?
Well, it has to be Doctor Who related of course... and if you notice, "Torchwood" is an anagram of "Doctor Who" but what exactly is this production starring John Barrowman on BBC Three in the summer of 2006? Will Barrowman be reprising his role as 'Captain Jack' in a spin-off perhaps?
We'll post more information on this as it becomes available.
UPDATE:
According to The Independent Online Edition it reports that Torchwood is a new programme commissioned to Russell T Davies by the BBC. The new show is described as consisting of "a crack team investigating alien activities and crime in modern-day Britain."
As speculated above, John Barrowman will be reprising his Captain Jack Harkness character in Torchwood.
The series starting in the summer of 2006 on BBC Three will be 13 episodes, each 45 minutes in length
