     Amazing New Christmas Invasion Trailer

The BBC premiered a new promo for The Christmas Invasion... and unlike the two teasers which have been made available on the BBC web site, this new trailer shows a good deal of footage from this Christmas special Doctor Who story. The BBC debuted it on BBC One on Sunday, 11th of December.

The TARDIS has a very rough landing... Once again, outstanding work from the SPFX team...

You won't be disappointed with this promo. The magic is back!

    How cool is that!?

Very awesome indeed. It's got me even more excited about the Christmas
    invasion than before! :D

Comments made on that wretched hive of scum and villainy, rec.arts.drwho indicate that the CGI is sub-par.

I have to agree a bit. I'm hoping this is an early edit or something. It looks like the TARDIS is composited in, rather than it being part of the actual surroundings, which is what we're used to.

Why are Mickey and Jackie holding hands? This works for the DOctor and Rose in times of strife, but it's less realistic when we're dealing with Mickey and Jackie.

Still a good teaser. Don't forget to watch the clown one (though if you've seen the Christmas Invasion Confidential, there's lots more of it in there than in the teaser) and I wish I knew the significance of the Christmas Tree one.

They give the indication the Christmas Tree is a TARDIS with the sound effects, and the interesting rotation effect (that I interpret as a dematerialization...)

Going to be a long CHristmas day waiting for my download....

I would have to say the TARDIS landing looks amazing! Creative, comical and very Doctor Who. Looks to me like they put the TARDIS on a rope and took it around the neighbourhood for a spin. It certainly isn’t like anything we’ve seen in the show before. Closest I can think of was that impressive landing <joke> in Time and the Rani. And I guess after doing the Big Ben crash of last year, they had to try to top it with that fantastic Gherkin/Swiss Re building shot this year.
Now, I hope the story holds up as well as the effects.
