Sir Patrick Moore rocks! He also edits a series of astronomy books!

There have been some threads on Britishisms on the SciFi boards, and while you're there, bump the podcast thread... :)

Re Why Doctor Who is set in Wales alot. Isn't this because RTD is Welsh, the show is a BBC Wales production and they are generally promoting Wales.

Question regarding "World War III" directed at Mike, this week's guest-host. You said "World War III" was the low point of the season for you... does that include "Boomtown?" For me, all the episodes of Season 27 were above par, except "Boomtown" which I thought dragged the whole season down. And for Ken, why would you rate a two-parter the same if the first episode rocked, and the second one dwindled down to a non-existent climax and a weak ending? I'm not saying World War III did that, exactly, but its second part was the weaker of the two, so why rate them together? It would be a bit misleading to rate the whole story, when one episode was a 5/5 and the second a 1/5. Would you then average it out and say that even while the first episode was 100% excellent, you'd rate the two as 3/5? This would be perfectly valid, I'm just curious how you're rating two-parters. As for politicians in Canada, yeah, we have exactly the same terminology as the UK, so MP to us is second-nature, even if we don't have a Flydale North district. :-) Sean.

One solid hope is worth a cartload of uncertainties.
