    Hey guys!

I wasn't able to stay for the entire recording of Podshock 58 but I've just had a chance to listen to the completed show and I watned to let you know how much I loved hearing the Colin Baker interview from 1987. What a great record of the that time! I look forward to hearing the Patrick Troughton interview at a later date.

Btw, Mathew Waterhouse has lived in the US for a number of years and has done all of the major US conventions over the last several years - Gallifrey, United Fan Con and Chicago Tardis. He also appeared at TCON here in Toronto, Canada last year.

    Mike

Fantastic podcast. I forgot how much I love Colin Baker. All that Michael Grade
bashing was excellent and even more poignant as he is in charge at the BBC
again now! Keep up the great work, you are the best out there. Darren (UK)

I listened to the Pertwee interview earlier today during my commute to and from work and was all set to come back home and post a comment about how great it was, and I started listening to episode 58 halfway through my commute back. The Colin Baker interview was just getting going when I got home so I hooked my iPod into some old PC speakers and listened to that whole interview in the kitchen while cooking. What a fantastic interview. I never got to see many CB episodes of Who and was kind of indifferent to him. But between the Big Finish audios with him and this interview, I really like him. I'm going to have to try getting copies of some old 6th Doc eps and check them out. Thanks for sharing this treat with us, Guys.

Oh...and another thing. I cannot believe you guys remembered that Judson Scott was in The Phoenix. I thought I was the only person that remembered that show. :)

Thanks for all the feedback on the Colin Baker interview. In hindsight, I believe I probably spent more time with Colin as an actor who was the "current Doctor" at that time. It was an exciting time during the mid-80's... I first met Colin when he was "the new" Doctor prior to any of his episodes being shown in the US a few years before this interview. He always had such great enthusiasm and energy and would always go out of his way for fans coming to see him. Even in 1987 at the time of this interview, he still went beyond what one may have expected considering all that had happened at that time. He was very gracious and generous with his time and patience with us and others that were there conducting interviews. -- especially since we were less than professional at that time.

We have more of Colin from this same period. I, myself interviewed him along with some other representatives from Doctor Who fan organizations at that time. I am hoping to put together an extra special podcast that will include some of this material along with other gems... in the future some time.

Colin deserves a tremendous amount of thanks. He gave his time to do several interviews even though he must have been exhausted from his time at the convention and jet-lag.. Yet he agreed to them all. He had just recently been let go from the job he adored... he was the unwillingly "out-going" Doctor at that time, he could have just as easily not have spent the time he did with us then, he certainly was not being paid to do so, yet he did anyway.

    Cheers,
    Louis

Colin Baker has always been such a great supporter of Doctor Who and it was fun to hear from him from yesteryear. I had a chance to meet him once and found him to be a really great guy. While I enjoyed his time as the Doctor, I'm not the biggest fan of his Doctor. But a lot of that had little to do with the actor and more with the challenges the program was facing as well as a horrible costume. I have enjoyed the chance to revisit his Doctor in the Big Finish adventures, which I feel have given Colin a chance to shine in a way that the series never allowed him to. It always bugs me that his Doctor never had his Caves of Androzani. Banging your head on the Tardis console (or whatever the Rani did to him) hardly seemed like a fitting end to that incarnation.
