As mentioned in our last trip to the Sarah Jane Adventures newsroom, Graham Harper seemed a possible director for one of the stories of Series 1. Sarah-Jane.tv are now reporting that they have "several sources" confirming Harper's involvement. However, the site is now claiming that he will, in fact, be directing the fourth story, not the fifth. This story, as yet un-named, is the one head writer Gareth Roberts has previously described as "the best thing I've ever done". Principal photography on Block One (consisting of the first story) completed a week ago. The Second Block (comprised of Episodes 7 and 8—Gareth Roberts' second story) began today. The "sources" alleged in Sarah-Jane.tv's story are therefore likely to have been onlookers at the relatively open Bannerman Road exterior location. Pictures on the fan website demonstrate that onlookers can get very close indeed to the "action" of Sarah Jane's house, and certainly would've been able to catch a glimpse of the director of the episode. The shoot is likely to be as long as that for Block One, or about three-and-a-half weeks. All this speculation should be ended with the issue of Doctor Who Magazine that hits British newsstands tomorrow. It's said to contain a detailed cast and crew update on SJA.
