Doctor Who NewsAustralian TV news site TV Tonight is reporting that the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Next Doctor, will be shown in Australia albeit a month after the original broadcast screening.

Last seasons, Australian viewers had to wait for up to nine months to be shown the Christmas Specials, which would precede the airing of each season. However, The Next Doctor is planned to air at 7:30pm Sunday January 25 on ABC1. This is the night before Australia Day which is a public holiday Australia-wide.
