Blimey! Am I the first to leave a comment again?

great interview Daphne sounds like a fun girl - and that she got on great with Paul.

I'd love to see her make a guest appearance in the new Dr Who series.

Well done again guys - daveac

    Great interview guys!

Really hope that Grace does return in a BF story sometime, I thought Daphne was great in 'The Next Life', but I would love to see her (Grace) character return, as I think she's got a lot more to offer. I mean, she resigned from her job and the hostipal, right?!

Daphne Ashbrook is one of the great companions, right up there with Sarah Jane and Romana. It would be great if both she and Paul McGann could come back. IT's a shame she hasn't been able to do the big finish audios as Grace with McGann [something about the rights/BBC/the writer of the 1996 movie prevents them from using the character].

it was a great/fun interview guys!

I just listened to the Podcast. I agree with daveac, Daphne does sound like a really nice person. Just a minor correction, Grace's surname was Holloway not Halloway.

    Keep up the good work...

Yeah, Grace's appearances in the pages of the DWM comic strip are all very well-judged, in my view. It's not just the stunt-return of a companion, but the kickoff to what might be called the "second season" of black-and-white Eighth Doctor strips. It comes after a good chunk of "introductory" Eighth Doctor/Izzy stories, and begins a long story arc that culminates in the end of the black-and-white era in DWM.

She appears "properly" in only one story, "The Fallen", but pops back a couple of times afterward, including a brief appearance in the Eighth Doctor's final story.

What's great about "The Fallen" is that it's a direct sequel to the TVM, and it prefigured the kind of adult questions with which Sarah Jane challenged the Tenth Doctor in "School Reunion". It's definitely worth a read, and is perhaps one of the best DWM stories of the black-and-white era. I'd recommend getting the graphic novel, The Glorious Dead, if you want to read it. The cliffhanger ending will drive you crazy if you just read "The Fallen", alone. You might as well have the complete story.

As an aside, I'd slightly correct previous posters who suggested Grace, like Martha, was working for UNIT in the story. In fact,; she was attached to a medical research project being carried out by MI6. The confusion is understandable, however, as even the Doctor assumes she's working for UNIT, until Grace corrects him.

My doctorate is purely honorary and Harry here is only qualified to work on sailors.
