Doctor Who: Podshock - Episodes 117-129

DW: PodshockDoctor Who: Podshock LIVE podcasts reviewing the 2008 series ("series 4") have been available on our live feed since originally recorded during the 2008 series. Previously these live raw recordings would enter into post-production to be polished and then placed on our main feeds. This year we decided to keep them on their separate feed while the main feeds focused on studio shows and special live appearances podcasts. If you missed the live over-the-net shows reviewing the 2008 series, you can grab them on the live feed or links below.

Once again these podcasts are right now in their rough, raw, unedited as they were recorded state (with one exception as Dave AC helped by doing post work on one episode (thanks Dave!)). This is not to say that they will not be polished and cleaned up in post-production and made available at a later time. But we don't want that to stall and delay us going forward with new material, new studio shows, etc. So we are offering them up as-is right now in their current unedited state.

Episodes 117 though 129 cover the entire 2008 series of Doctor Who reviewing each episode as they were transmitted on the BBC. There are few episodes marked with the letter "B" after the episode number to indicate that this was a supplemental live recording for the benefit of fans viewing the 2008 series on the Sci-Fi Channel a few weeks after the BBC transmission.

Doctor Who: Podshock LIVE - "Rough, Ready, & Raw" Reviewing the 2008 Series

  • Episode 117 - Review of Partners in Crime (raw)
  • Episode 117B - Review of Partners in Crime (Sci-Fi Channel) (raw)
  • Episode 117 - Review of Partners in Crime (Combined and EDITED by DaveAC)

  • Episode 118B - Review of The Fires of Pompeii (Sci-Fi Channel) (raw)

Weird. I thought the plan was to completely divorce Podshock: Live! from the feeds for Podshock. By giving these live reviews numbers relevant to the regular Podshock feed, I guess that plan's out the window, and we're back to doing exactly what we did for 2007.

You know, I am so constantly outwitting the opposition, I tend to forget the delights and satisfaction of the gentle art of fisticuffs.

I know there are many opinions on all this - and before I add mine - I should say that I think Louis does and should have the final 'say-so' on what happens.

I had thought that the Series 4 reviews were never going to make it to iTunes - which I believe is a wider audience - and was a little upset about that.
EDIT - somehow this post of mine got onto the wrong section!!
I thought that 'although a bit rough' they gave a great insight as to how 'us fans' as opposed to general viewers rated the shows.

I do see the need to 'warn' listeners about 'LIVE' shows - but love the fact that these can now be heard on iTunes.

So from me at least it works.

    Cheers, daveac

I edited the article to include a link to the live feed via iTunes. One of our listeners, Mark asked about it. I should have included it when I originally posted this article. All the live (raw and unedited) can be found on iTunes on its separate feed here:

    Cheers,
