I think we spent way to much time talking about future speculation than about the episode itself. I have no problem with speculation, but it would probably be better to hold it off until later in the dicussion. There were many things in this episode that could have been discussed, but there was just not enough time due to us going on all these tangents. Is there much difference between speculation of future story lines and spoilers thereof? Other than the former not having complete knowledge of the full picture? We didn't even get to discuss the mnemonic YANA, because we were too busy scripting the finale. And for some people listening after the series is over, most of this speculation will be distracting. I have no problem with discussing speculations or spoilers, but since this episode was to be a review of Utopia, I felt we didn't give the episode enough time, and spent too much time looking forward (or possibly sideways).

Indeed. There are a lot of spoilers out there right now and avoiding them is tough. I missed the recording and was listening to the show but have paused it for the time being out of fear of being spoiled. Even if there are now full blown spoilers a partial spoiler can be linked with something unavoidably overheard elsewhere and turn into something bigger. Sometimes I think just hearing "I better not go further into that due to spoilers" can give away more than the listener might want to hear.

I'm finally listening to this one and though we did spend a good deal on speculation, it was not to the extent that I felt it was at the time. I must assume that the place I was in (mentally) on the day of the recording must have skewed my perceptions a bit. What was a marginal increase seemed huge due to the amount of spoilers I was exposed to which caused me to hold back during some of that part of the discussion, possibly leading to an increased sense of frustration mostly coming from my own self-censorship during these parts of the discussions.
