Good question... In the past, when we published a printed newsletter, the membership dues really covered the cost of mailing them out every month... and the printing costs as well. Now that we are no longer printing newsletters and sending them out via snail mail... we had stopped collecting membership dues. In place of a printed newsletter, we have an interactive web site and a podcast as well. Since we don't collect any membership dues or fees, we are grateful for those listeners that have decided to donate to help offset some of the ongoing costs of the this new media we are working in now. So in a sense, membership is free now, and by registering on the site, it could be considered becoming a member. Registration is free. Currently we have just under 500 people as registered users on our site, over 600 people that have placed themselves on our Frappr map, and we have thousands and thousands of people that listen to our podcasts every week. So we consider them all to be "Ambassadors" of the Gallifreyan Embassy today.
