I love the naming of the one elevator as the 'celebrity lift ride' -- and your sentence "My magical moment was with Carroll Ann Ford" sounds like a reveal-all book you might be writing...
It reminded me of the 'golden' years going back 20 years in the States with big multi-guest conventions such as the TARDIS cons in Chicago and Whoevent cons in PA...
