Mythology, by nature, has one of the biggest definitions out there & I believe our CFP embraces all the shades of varied meaning the word implies. I'm not sure how much bigger you can get here. The volume will encompass mythology of the show, mythological inspirations found in human mythological structures, personal mythology (particularly when referring to fans), created mythologies (such as those from fanfic & related areas), and on. If we were narrow in our approach, we would have said mythology of the show & end it there. The term itself is highly subjective.
As for any religious tones.... if a contributor would like to submit a paper dealing with the mythological underpinning of any episodes, casting an eye toward judeo-christian ideology, we would not be opposed. However, this will be a volume not dedicated to any one mythological structure-- and as we all know, religion is just another way of saying myth. I would be interested to see a paper dealing with this, but as editors, we're open to whatever comes to us.
