Ghost Light is the most dense of the episodes of Sylvester McCoy's last season, and the story was aired with too many plot points left without adequate exposition. The last two seasons of the seventh Doctor were very much about adding mor mystery to the character of the Doctor, and the last season also focused on the character of his companion— Ace.
