Great reviews this time out. I liked the Sarah Jane Smith series (just listened to the first of season 2 a few days ago) and I like it, except it seems like SJ really doesn't like her friends at times, and they don't much like her... still, interesting stories.
A bit frustrating, though, the premise - trying desperately to stay ahead of a group of very rich and connected people who are trying to ruin one's life. Very frustrating. But good stuff anyway.
And Taras, good review of "The Stones of Venice" but did no one pick up on the fact that Miss Eleanor Lavish is the same name as the character played by Judi Dench in the film version of EM Forster's "A Room with a View"?
As for K-9 and Company, I rewatched it recently, and you know, it wasn't bad. I mean the opening music needs to be chucked into the Thames with a large chain around it, but otherwise the episode itself wasn't bad. I'm saddened it wasn't picked up as a series.
I think many fans would agree Sarah Jane Smith is one of the most beloved and intriguing companions. She was my first as well. My first episode was "Robot".
Perhaps I should do an audio review of "K9 and Company"... put forth an unpopular, opposing view... I mean a correct view. :-)
As for complaints about length, it seems now to boil down to download time, which is no big deal for me, I have DSL. But I am not unfamiliar with downloads that take 12-16 hours, so I for one believe the reward to be worth it.
I'm betting a general poll would reveal that the number of people who are writing these to a CD so they can listen to them is small. Perhaps you could cut the thing up into two files, and have both available on the feed, if it's a matter of keeping it down to CD length.
Keep up the good work. It's high time I did some audio submissions. My last one was my "Favorite Doctor" piece, and oh yeah, the Sonic Screwdriver review.
I have so much more now.
Sean.
