You can definitely see the similarities between Casanova & Doctor Who; being that Russel T Davies is the producer/director of both. Interestingly, some of the language is even the same. Remember the Christmas Invasion (if you've seen it, of course). The Doctor, after waking says something like, "You could, sure you could, of course you should, but why?" I swear they use this same line in Casanova. It almost made it seem like I was watching David Tennant playing The Doctor playing Casanova....
All that being said. I think he'll keep the child-like wonderment and joy of life the Eccleston had, and well, I'm going to enjoy The Doctor coming in a youner package for once! (do wish they'd let David do The Doctor with his own accent....)
