As for Louis, Paul tried to tell you about the camera cut to the slab with Ursula's face. You say you can't verify it because you haven't, and won't watch it again.
You don't have to. Watch just the scene. The web cam cuts to what I call "Elton-cam" - ie: every single shot in the show that wasn't web-cam, and from that angle we see Ursula's face.
It's incredibly easy to believe that Elton sees and hears what he wants to see and hear.
I really wish, as I said in Paul's 'cast when I was on, I really really wish Elgon had put the slab down where we could see it on his web-cam, and it was just a chalk drawing.
That would have been amazing.
Paul's point about his mom abandoning him makes perfect sense too, if you watch that scene, especially if you watch "Life on Mars" in which we see similar scenes from time to time.
But it can't be a fan who watches "Doctor Who" because that show doesn't exist in the Doctor Who universe anymore than "Star Trek" the TV show could possibly have existed in the Star Trek universe. However, other than that, yes, Elton is a fanboi.
But he could have been, like Clive, following the news reports of the DOctor.
ALso, as Paul said, the abandonment possibility is a strong one, but unless the Doctor was actually in his house that night, he would have no reason to include the Doctor in his obession. I maintain that the Doctor really was there when Elton's mom "died", but she didn't die. She left him.
The "Mr. Blue Sky Why" scene with the fade-to-white "death scene" works just as well as an abandonment scene.
I think it was Chris who said he didn't buy that the Doctor would bring Ursula back as a slab of concrete.
Of course it goes against the grain that the Doctor would bring Ursula back as a slab - because he didn't. It was all Elton's fantasy.
Anyway, Louis, until you're willing to watch that final scene a second time, perhaps you should reserve judgment on whether or not it works in that context.
Sean.
