EPISODE PRE-TITLES SEQUENCE OPENS: Sarah Jane Smith working in a job as a dinner lady in a local school kitchen (sound familiar anyone?). This gives her a chance to first meet her 13 year old side-kick, who is a pupil at the school.
CUT TO: Shot of Sarah struggling to get the big industrial sized chip-fryer to work.
CUT TO: shot of K9 rolling up and kindly offers to give it a burst of energy to jump-start it.
CUT TO: Shot of K9 zapping chip-fryer with his nose-gun. Unfortunately he overdoes it and the whole thing blows up.
CUT TO: external shot of school kitchen windows being blown out.
CUT TO: interior shot of Sarah Jane and other dinner ladies rising tentatively from behind the steel worktops on the other side of the kitchen. Bits of metal are embedded in the walls all around.
CUT TO: Shot of a detached and defunked K9 head bouncing unceremoniously on the worktop in front of Sarah Jane.
CUT TO: close-up of Sarah's cheesed-off expression as she holds up K9's head sadly knowing that this time there's no Doctor around to repair him. She sighs deeply and starts to mutter "Oh bol..!" CUT TO: lively opening titles and music.
