Doctor Who: Podshock - Episode 108

well, i have to agree with everyone and say Eccelston was great. with only a few missteps his season was great and a great way to bring back the series.
that said, there were a few things i had a problem with.
in the first episode when rose is learning about the Dr. from the 'nutter' he shows her pictures of the Dr. on the titanic, on java and at dallas in 1963. it would have been much more satisfying if she was shown his previous incarnations. [ditto for the 1996 movie when the eye of harmony shows the previous 7th Dr..]
i realize it was to make it easier for new viewers but it was a good opportunity to establish the regeneration thing.
Secondly, i have to complain about the whole tyler family thing. it was much too much. I wish i had a dollar for every time i heard someone cry 'she's my daughter!' or 'he's my father!' [as if we didn't know]. it was a bit nauseating. and it took away from the story.
In the final story when the dr. is finished building the delta wave he fails to destroy the daleks because of the consequences. Now, we know he was supposed to have already ended the time war by destroying the daleks and the timelords. Now he's decided not to take action and we don't get to see the connection between the 2 events. i realize that may be nitpicking but it did bug me when i saw it.
Lastly, the brilliance of having the Dalek episode was that it was the last one. OK, so we get a million of them at the end of the series but when they keep coming back in the following seasons, i'm finding it hard to care. Then we find out he's not the last timelord. Now it turns out Rose is coming back. Do you see a pattern here? Every time they use a 'last' thing, they ruin it by bringing whatever it is back.
    ok, i'll shut up now....
