To me, the Cybermen are not cyborgs. They are not half-human or part human, they were ONCE human. They represent the evils of technology, logic and industrialization gone too far. They represent what happens when we remove our humanity and turn our back on our emotions. They represent what we could become. They represent the horror of humans turned into machines.

And I kind of have a feeling what Louis is alluding too regarding these particular Cybermen. As Rob Shearman’s “Dalek” was a watered-down version of his BF audio “Jubilee,” so I think they will borrow heavily from Dan Abnett’s “The Harvest” with a bit of Marc Platt’s classic “Spare Parts” thrown in. I mean, after all, they admit it takes place on an alterative earth, (i.e. they’re doing an “Inferno” on us). ‘nuff said.
