I like the new music. I am also glad that you keep the same first few seconds in each version. It is nice to have that sound identifiable with your podcast.
Its from a Big Finish free disc story called "last of the titans" just seemed to work and Yeah. I needed to keep the Dalek Time Machine Sound FX. Ill start using it as my theme tune from next week when Ill be doing a review of Rose.

Ive just uploaded a show to go live on sunday morning. its a review of Rose. I kept being asked to do shows on the 2005 and 2006 seasons so... here I go. hope you enjoy.

2 questions and id love your feedback.
1) who (on my show should review Torchwood. Me or Tobias Lumic.
so far the votes are 3 for Tobias and 4 for Me.
2) MUCH more important.
I have been thinking of ONLY reviewing the classic series as its a hole in the podcast market and i am worried that my apparent disillusions with the new show may rub off or alienate people.
what are your thoughts.
come on guys need your help

tin-dog@hotmail.co.uk[/QUOTE]
No - not with the 4th Series due to start soon.
In fact if you listen to yesterdays CIA podcast we rally round the issue of being a 'Fan'
If you are judging on VOTD - then I think Christmas specials are different from proper series episodes - one reason why I'd be happy for them to be dropped.
So - from me at least - keep doing new Who.
Cheers, daveac
I disagreed with your opinion, but LOVED the passion and the way you defended it. I sought out these shows (Yours, Podshock, CIA, etc.) because I wanted to hearing differing opinions. I'm kinda isolated in terms of Doctor Who and I count on you guys to provide me with opinions that exist outside my own head. (There are a lot of voices in there, but they seem to share the same opinions on TV.) I was just listening to the Love and Monsters review on Podshock today and Louis' emphatic thoughts made that show, just like Dave and you made the VOTD discussion more lively. So please don't pigeon hole yourself, discuss everything.
And you can put me down as your fifth vote to review Torchwood.
Doogie448
Michael, I respect and enjoy hearing your opinion far too much. Personally, I want to hear you do podcasts on all aspects of Doctor Who, old and new. I enjoyed your VotD review immensely! It was great. If you stop reviewing the new series, all I'm gonna do is bug you incessantly on myspace and the forum until you tell me your thoughts on each episode. You're in my top 8, so it'll be easy to click over to your page.
Ok....
sorry..
lol
ill keep going. As I am. probably with a bigger slant on the classic show. - now with added Whomix!
you are right. Opinion is what the net is for. I am one person who didnt like something. Well. 15 million people did like it so I am happy that I will have no effect on anything.

Hell. When I write Doctor Who stuff I will be ready for people not love hate or even not care.
thanks for the support. really means a lot to me.

TDP 37: Beneath the Surface Silurians, Sea Devils and Warriors of the Deep. Oh My!
Doctor Who And The Silurians: Summoned by the Brigadier to an underground research centre at Wenley Moor, the Doctor and Liz Shaw learn from its director, Dr Lawrence, that work on a new type of nuclear reactor is being hampered by inexplicable power losses and by an unusually high incidence of stress-related illness amongst staff. Investigating a nearby cave system, the Doctor discovers it is the base of a group of intelligent reptiles, termed Silurians, who went into hibernation millions of years ago but have now been revived by power from the research centre. The Doctor strives for peace between reptiles and humans and manages to gain the trust of the old Silurian leader, but then a rebellious young Silurian seizes power and releases a deadly virus that threatens to wipe out humanity. The Doctor finds an antidote, but the Silurians retaliate by taking over the research centre and preparing to destroy the Van Allen Belt, a natural barrier shielding the Earth from solar radiation harmful to humans but beneficial to reptiles...
The Sea Devils: The Doctor and Jo visit the Master in his high-security prison on an island off the south coast of England and hear from the governor, Colonel Trenchard, that ships have been mysteriously disappearing at sea. Investigating, the Doctor learns from Captain Hart, commander of a nearby Naval base, that the sinkings have centred around an abandoned sea fort. He and Jo then visit the fort and are attacked by what one of the men there terms a Sea Devil - an amphibious breed of the prehistoric creatures encountered by the Doctor shortly after his exile to Earth.
The Master, aided by a misguided Trenchard, is stealing equipment from the Naval base in order to build a machine to revive the Sea Devils from hibernation. The Doctor takes a diving bell down to the Sea Devils' underwater base to try to encourage peace...
Warriors Of The Deep: The Doctor, Tegan and Turlough arrive at an underwater Sea Base on Earth, where a scientific and military team led by Commander Vorshak are monitoring a rival power bloc. The team undergo regular missile launch test sequences to ensure that they are ready at all times to combat an attack. Three Silurians led by Icthar - the surviving member of a Silurian triad - revive a colony of Sea Devil Warriors in order to invade the base and use its weapons to attack the opposing power bloc, thus provoking a global war that will allow the reptiles to conquer the Earth...

Another vote for you (Tin-Dog that is) doing Torchwood, and by all means please cary on with ALL of Who. As I believe I heard our estemed collegue Dave C. saying recently "High viewing figures does not place a show above criticism" Amen Dave and thats why we need the moderate view that gives an honest apraisal of the story in context. Sorry for the run on sentence but the truth is in there
. Carry on dear podcaster, carry on.
Cheers,
Mike

As someone once said, Doctor Who fans exist to disagree. It would be a sad boring world if we all had the same views. I personally love your podcast, even when I frequently disagree with your opinions, at least you justify your opinions with well thought out arguments. If you apply your laser-like analysis to the classic series in the same way as the new, and keep that sense of balance, I'll be happy.
Its funny - you also picked up on the "hey kids - did you miss me?" line.

cheers Ill keep the new mic then.
This week there will be 2 shows. one for torchwood and one reviewing the Time meddler... that way if you are keeping the TW one to one side then you can still listen to the review.
so thats 2 short shows this week rather than one big one.
I think I'll be skipping your Torchwood episodes altogether. Am I the only one who doesn't give a crap about Torchwood? I have no desire to see it. Saw about 6 minutes of the first episode of series one and haven't been bothered to even care about seeing anymore.
Quite alright if you don't like TW. I personally go from indiffrence to rapt attention, and sometimes that can be within the same episode. Bilis Manger was the most intriguing character from the new series (Who, TW, or SJA) and if they waste him on a one off apearance then I will most probably drop TW as well. Tin-Dog, carry on as others have...... Well you can guess. We need an unbiased FanBoy oppinion and you have been elected.
No pressure then m8.

Well, Tin, I'm disappointed that I'll have to sit through some Torchwood twaddle before hearing your Voyage of the Damned thing. I still can't be bothered to care about Torchwood at all, so I'm not planning on listening to any of your Torchwood shows. (I'm still catching up with your podcast and only today heard your original Voyage of the Damned piece). But I sure do appreciate that you're throwing a bone (Ha! Get it?) to us non-Torchwood types by going back to some actual Doctor Who content on your fine show.

I agree with most of what you said - but you didn't say much - these podcast are getting shorter and shorter!!
Under 8 minutes this time
There was hardly time for a 'are you sitting comfortably' (UK childrens entertainment reference) - before it was over.
Please Sir! I want some more....!?!!
Cheers, daveac
yeah Dave, sorry it was only just under 8 mins. You see I just wasnt inspired.
The story just didnt do anything for me. It didnt anoy me. Hell I will talk about Love and monsters for an hour one day! and it didnt disapoint me but I also didnt love it.
Also my other commitments have been getting in the way. BUT I am loving the current story. So next show should be good. the recording of the first part is already 7 mins so it will be a longer show next time.
I am caught up and current now the Tin Dog Podcast... well that's not counting all the previous episodes prior to April of this year. Good show. I also enjoyed hearing the host with the most also in a cameo role in the latest Big Finish Podcast. Perhaps he will join us once again tomorrow for our live version of Doctor Who: Podshock as well.

Louis

Still loving the podcast and I think having listened to your review helped me appreciate Journey's End when I watched it again today.
Glad to hear that you are carrying on with the podcast even if it isn't as frequent. You're still doing better than me as I've only made it as far as Planet of the Ood with my very irregular podcast. I'll have some more time in a couple of weeks to get out some more shows.

and something odd happend.
If you look at the listing for the podcasts "ie Doctor Who" the ranking is different to the UK... which I was expecting but what was more odd was the feedback score for the TDP.
ie Podshock is Now Number One in the UK after the BBC have no product on their link.
In the UK I have 28 bits of feedback but in USA there are 32! and there all different from the UK ones.
Can I just take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kind words. Really makes podcasting worth it.

You said that next time you'll be covering the final two parts of TOATL but you haven't to my knowledge done parts 9-12 yet or did I miss something?
The next podcast will be...TOATL 9-14 as I want to spend at little time on Langford as I can
Would love to see some podcasts on:

-sequel stories in Doctor Who e.g Curse v Monster of Peladon
- The Master
-reviews of more classic stories and VDs that existed before your podcast started e.g. my favourite: the Ark in Space
- Various companion / recurring character profiles
Keep up the good work and cheers!
Oh all good ideas.
I do want to cover the cushing movies... a couple of shows on those will be good... esp with BC!

Just catching up after a computer meltdown and I really laughed when you said you wouldn't spoil who the enemy is in Brave New Town only seconds after using a clip of Paul McGann saying "Well done you've found the *SPOILER REMOVED* control unit".
Still enjoyed the episode though and I'd already heard the story so it wasn't a spoiler to me!
Another great podcast - over 20 minutes too.

but here I am as a guest host on the new Whocast.
Only one thing the mind of the DWO WhoCast this week. A story with one bus, and lots of sand. Trevor and Marty are joined by Tin Dog and they record their thoughts on Planet of the Dead moments after its BBC1 Saturday team-time broadcast.
See what the boys thought of this Easter special starring David Tennant as the Doctor, one of the last times we will be able to enjoy his performance in the series.
We also have a talk about the next special, Waters of Mars, and cover the latest news from all areas of Who-dom.
For this wishing to avoid being spoiled for the events of Planet of the Dead, you can join us for the news at the 27:21 mark and stay with us through to 35:26. Join us again at 41:03 mark for the remainder of the show to ensure you remain spoiler-free.
The DWO WhoCast is FREE to download each week, and contains all the latest from the world of Doctor Who.
