This is a possible major spoiler, nicked from OG, regarding the next episode after Planet of the Dead, don't highlight or click if you don't want to know!
Anyway, according to this tv mag scan of a feature on Planet of the Dead [SPOILER]The next episode will be called 'The Waters of Mars' [SPOILER]
One thing that needs noting is the possible title for the next special (possibly in Nov.)
The thing I noticed in the section "Tales from the Rumour Mill" section of the story (the first paragraph):
"The Waters of Mars". Sounds like there may some truth to the rumour that an adversary from the past is comming back.
I'm not going to spoil it here by telling (but many of us know who it may be).
WARNING: RUMORS AND POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Here is a close up of the section:
Tales From the Rumour Mill
Just seen the trailer for this it looked interesting although there didn't seem to be any sight of ice warriors
A thought has just struck me about the tranmisson of this episode. Now RTD has said he expects the episode to be aired in November but what if they hold off until Saturday 6th December - the 20th anniversary of the end of the classic series.
That would be the best of nods to old school fans, as well as a two fingered rude hand gesture to the controller of ITV, oh what's his name again?
I think the four knocks are the sound of drums.
Uh, how many specials are left after PLANET OF THE DEAD?

If it was THREE knocks, I'd say the villain is going to be Tony Orlando and Dawn. "Knock Three times...on the ceiling if you want me...".
Yup, four knocks, the Master's drums. Exactly what I thought.
Rather than four KNOCKS could it have been FOUR knocks and we'll see Tom Baker knocking at the TARDIS doors.
There have been rumours...

Three, The Waters of Mars and the two parter. (So its actually two!)
Waters of Mars looks like the living water aliens from one of the recent Annual stories. It was quite good and was about a family living in isolation...attacked by...

That's actually a Sunday the 6th.
Maybe we could have it on 21st Novemeber, as close they can to the actual Who Anniversary, if they stick with Saturday nights.

There was a Big Finish Audio - The Genocide Machine, which had the 7th Doctor and Ace go to a planet where the occupants actually lived as/in the water. its a pretty good story which features the Daleks and the debut of Bev Tarrant, who is a recurring charcter in the Benny Summerfield audios as well as 'Dust Breeding' - another 7th Doctor audio.

Yeah i've just realised that!
Still its a great idea though, if I say so myself
Finally, The Waters of Mars will put out The Fires of Pompeii at long last.
Cheers,
Louis
As an obvious fan of the new Master (yes JS was over the top but it was funny), I'm hoping the knocks mean he's back. Notice she said "he will knock" (if it is the Master) removing the whole female picking up the ring thing in Last of the Timelords. Anyway, "Waters..." looks good, interesting concept with water people. In true RTD style though, I think they'll still drag out the on-coming storm-esque thread though whether it is the Master or not. Glad it'll be in November though (allegedly) and not a trilogy over Christmas.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum for speculation, but I've been stewing over a "conspiracy theory" and want to get the opinions of others more informed than myself!
Suppose the Master DOES come back? He would be regenerated, right? Suppose that all the hype surrounding Matt Smith being cast as the 11th Doctor is a red herring and Smith comes on as the regenerated Master and the REAL actor playing the 11th Doctor has been kept tightly under wraps to shock and surprise us all when Tennant regenerates at the end of the 2 parter?
Could the BBC be THAT clever?
Your thoughts?

The BBC executives are not that clever but the writers are.
Think X-men movie,Remember when in the first movie when the sen.turned into water because the change was unstable.Maybe the water is from people changing into a new form.
