I think it is great to have John Simm in the series in any role. Being cast as The Master is genius if it is true. We also reported on this in the recent episode (#66) of Doctor Who: Podshock but we didn't give away the spoiler part.
I have no doubt that John Simm can pull it off. Now the next question is will he sport a goatee?
Cheers,

I heard about this earlier this week. If true I hope he does wear a Goatee. It will help push the Roberts' portrail further into the background . Perhaps that's what happened to Sam, he was taken over by the Master and his damaged phychie is trying to come to terms with what he is expierencing (I don't believe it for a moment, but still a fun idea). |

| wow, that would be fantastic if it is indeed true. A younger Master for a younger Doctor. At least in appearance. I hope that the Master actually does appear. This makes me almost giddy. |

| Will he be the latest Master or an earlier incarnation. I always wondered why the Doctor never encountered his earlier regenerations. |

| Interesting thought, it would certainly be interesting for the Doctor to meet the master before he turned evil or the point in time when he turned to the dark side(if there was ever a point in the Masters life when he was not pure evil of course) |

Well, R.T. Davies had said that he felt that evil geniuses like the Master were too 2-D as a character and was against bringing him back unless the story was really worth it. Let's hope that the Master is given a great script and that he comes up with a workable master plan. |

I thought it was because the Master was on his 'last' regeneration that he was bad.

Well, I would assume that the Master's lifestyle would burn through regenerations in short order. |

I imagine for the sake of not alienating fans of the last two series(eses) that they would just make this a latest Master. Any past incarnations would probably be too much confusion for John Q Public. |

Okay ---- I officially just did a little wee of excitement on reading this post. I may very well need to be sedated if this turns out to be true (interesting that it was revealled in the Independant and not the Sun! who normally scoop the BBC in the Doctor Who press release stakes.) I not only hope this is true I hope that this means RTD gets his wings! The man is heaven sent! |
