| I have just finished listening to the Live Podcast discussing "The Sound Of Drums" (I LOVE the Podcasts guys and look forward to having both the studio recordings AND occasional Live ones... you're really gonna spoil us... Thanks Guys!!!) and was surprised to hear how many people think that Freema will be leaving. I read an interview (I think it was in the METRO newspaper and the article was on Outpost Gallifrey but I am not sure) and she said that although she is not allowed to comment on story elements she had been given permission to defend herself after the story by "The Sun". She categorically stated that she was not leaving, that she was contracted to the end of Season 4 and that she was starting to film the 4th Season (or The Christmas Special... whichever way you look at it) either next week or next month (I can't remember which)! Of course, we know RTD has a habit of "bending" the truth so maybe he has been giving her some lessons but I, for one, believed her... That said, I believed RTD when he said the Daleks were not returning in Season 2... I am just TOO trustworthy! I am gonna make it my mission to become a hardened skeptic by next year!!! |

The problem is that people don't understand truth the Way RTD does. People assume that truth is a strict progression of fact, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...tuthy-woothy...stuff.

Freema on Richard & Judy TV show today (UK) - when asked about Series 4
Freema said 'I can't say anything about season 4'
Richard replied 'Well I can, and we know you're in Series 4'

I saw Richard and Judy too and whereas I wasn't worried about her before see her interview I was just a teeny weeny, timey wimey bit worried by the end of it. She refused to comment on series four, mentioned how she had really enjoyed being part of the programme (past tense) and worst of all... RICHARD said he knew she was staying (that is when I started trembling with fear!!!!). Seriously though, I DO think she will be around for a little longer but the interview did make me think twice... That said, I think there would have been an announcement by now... Fingers crossed she'll stay though as she is just starting to come into her own!!!

| I also believe Freema is telling the truth when she says that she'll appear through Season/Series 4. RTD's ruse concerning the Daleks in Series 2 was certainly from the viewpoint of a storyteller hoping to keep a few surprises up his sleave. I don't think anyone (including Freema) would attempt to do the same thing regarding a "companion", especially when that particular actor has had some unfair speculations placed at her doorstep. |
