| I found a store in Woodstock NY that sells Jelly Babies imported from England. I bought a bag tonight for about $5.00. Did I get ripped off? Oh well, I have Jelly Babies to go with my 4th Doctor scarf. |

| Hard to know whether you got ripped off, cause it's not clear how big the bag was. Amazon sells 12-8oz. boxes for $42. That'd be just a bit over $3 to make a bag about as big as we see Baker regularly carrying. While that's cheaper per bag, you do have to commit almost $50 up front to get them. $5 is a pretty standard price from specialized British online grocers for a 300g bag. So if you're into it for the curiosity, you probably went the right way. But if you actually like them and want to regularly consume them, you probably want to go the amazon way. |

I think a good substitute for Jelly Babies is Swedish Fish.
Try to find the variety pack not the regular red ones.

There is no substitute for Jelly Babies. I love those things.

| I have them at the supermarket near me in Queens, NY and they come in a box. They are about $5-6 bucks for the box. |

Well they're hard to come by in my corner of the world.
But there's Swedish Fish out the wazoo!
Can't find Jelly Babies nibble of the Fish from Sweden.

James had just sent some fresh Jelly Babies directly from the UK to myself and Ken. I haven't opened up the package yet, but they have changed the packaging quite a bit since the classic days. At first glance it doesn't seem that different, as the colours are essentially the same.
I think I have some of the old boxes (empty now) from 20 some odd years ago somewhere here. Perhaps I should take a photo of them both side by side. A "then" and "now" photo.
Cheers,
Louis |

I spotted bags of Jelly Babies at a local place ($3.49/bag) and bought one. This is my very first experience with jelly babies. I have to say, now that I've eaten three of them, they're kinda creepy. Sort of slightly crunchy on the outside. And a long lingering aftertaste.
Better eat some more... |

Sounds very little Britain. Is the shop "just for local people"?

| I buy Jelly Babies from World Market, a store here in Wisconsin. I pay about 4 bucks a bag for them. Yellow bag with babies of various colours on the front. Considering how addictive they are to me, I appreciate the price tag. |

| Lawrence, Kansas (about a 20 minute drive from me) has a little store called Brits that carries them in a box for around $7. I used to go there alot to buy Doctor Who DVD's but since a few more stores in Topeka carry the DVD's now I don't make it over there much anymore. So I haven't had Jelly Babies for months now. |

Ok chaps over the pond. Just for a bit of fun, I will send a packet of Jelly Baby's at my own expense to the first person to donate $2 to Podshock and then post here that they've done it.
Usual rules apply, Louis needs to confirm the donation before any goods are sent etc, your home may be at risk if you do not keep up the payments on a mortgage or any other loan secured against it..... you know the drill
Just to make it even more interesting, if a few people donate and post here we'll have a raffle and I'll send another packet to somebody at random!
Maybe even DaveAC will match me and send a packet as well - what do you think Dave?

I'll buy and send the second one - but I think $5+ sounds better :-)

You know what Dave - I think you're spot on there - $5 is a very good minimum donation to this site! Mind you, from the lack of posts here I guess nobody wants our Jelly babies? |
