Jobel or Mr. Copper? |
|
Mr Copper - because he's almost a namesake - oh! and he's quite rich now
Beatles haircut (second doctor style) or David's teddyboy quiff?
(Late EDIT - As Darth says - his hairstyle from 'The Idiot's Lantern')
Cheers, daveac

| I take it that you're talking specifically about DT's hair in "The Idiot's Lantern". In that case, Beatles haircut, hands down, even though I prefer DT's general haircut (or its wilder, post-running-his-fingers-through-it variation) to Troughton's.

Okay, here's another obscure one, and an acceptable answer cannot be "because I have no idea about the other choice".
Best Dalek origin story:
Terry Nation's televised "Genesis of the Daleks"
or
David Whitaker's comic "Genesis of Evil" (summarized here) |

Genesis of the Daleks, a great moral quandary for The Doctor.
"Do I have the right?"
The great Michael Wisher as Davros, it's a pity he never reprised the role. Though Terry Malloy did really well, but he's no Mike Wisher!
The Genesis of Evil story semmingly explains the inconsistency with the episode Destiny of the Daleks. In that story the Daleks were referred to as simply robots with no organic aspect to them at all.
K9 and Company or The Sarah Jane Adventures?

You're very welcome. Yes, sadly I could spend my whole life (and nearly do) playing or instigating games like this.
My answer to the last quote is Sarah Jane Adventures because:
1) I loved the Gorgon
2) k-9 is used sparingly
3) It's good to see a good spin-off series that stays true (in some ways truer than some episodes of new Who itself) to the spirit of Boctor Who.
[also cheating a little and going back to spoons v recorder - recorder also saved the universe as we know it in the Three Doctors).
Next choice: Silurians or Sea Devils?

Sea Devils -- they've got those sweet string vests. Oh, so fashionable.
Now give me a minute to think of something else... |

The Tenth Planet Cybermen. As goofy as they may have looked, at least they didn't sport a big "C" on their chest. We are still awaiting their return in the series. Alternate shamalternate... "Delete, delete!" indeed.
Robots of Death or the Clockwork Men (Girl in the Fireplace)?

Tough one - Clockwork men I think - just for their creepiness.
'the cloister bell' or 'Louis' gong' (heard on the latest podshock)

The Cloister Bell
One of the best things about Logopolis - a real sense of impending doom (this, I realise, has made me sound somewhat pompous and over-serious considering that we are comparing this to Louis' Gong! Doh!).
So: Rose Tyler or Donna Noble? |

Donna Noble, just somehting about Rose, maybe because (IMO) her only strongest moments were in Father's Day and Doomsday and Donna (You'll notice i'm going by character NOT by actress) has got visibly stronger since Runaway Bride
On the scale of annoyingness (sp?)
Jackie Tyler
OR
Sylvia Noble
(personally, i cant forgive the dungarees!) |

Sylvia Noble has yet to reveal any endearing qualities, while at least Jackie had some amusing moments and some redeeming features. But Sylvia is just plain annoying.
