Dalek Kidnapper - Bit Harsh? Views: 877

After listening to the whocast about the story of the bloke who was sentenced to 14 months in jail (or butilns, as they are in the UK) for paying his mate 20 grand to kidnap his ex girlfriend, whilst dressed as a dalek. Laughing Out Loud

Even though its utterly hillarous, it's still an offence which can't be condoned, but 14 months? Bit harsh isn't it?

Please check out my blog, as I attempt to watch and review EVERY Doctor Who episode!

kidnapping is a serious offense and they should have gotten longer.

    and because they're obviously stupid.

Did you read what they planned to do to her? Isn't conspiring to kidnap a felony? They even stalked her several times before getting caught. Not cool, dude.

Did you say "74,384,338 to 1 against"? That's my lucky number!

I remember reading about this in our local paper (Newark is very near Nottingham) Although this is a serious offence, parts of it were very funny. I love the thought that one of the guys was hiding in the bush with his Dalek voice changer head on. Also loved the fact that he was spooked by a cat. Obviously they are hard of thinking. Laughing Out Loud

Firstly, for attempting to kidnap someone at knife point, as a 'joke' without violent intent, these sentences sound about right. Clearly appaling behaviour.

Secondly, good grief! What a pair of loons! If they had only claimed insanity they could have received proper treatment. This is the kind of thing that sane people with working brains simply do not do, it surely would be impossible to argue otherwise.

These folks need treatment. As it stands they will be out and about again in less than two years with no proper treatment or drugs or whatever. What next? With loons like these who needs aliens? Send in Mulder & Scully...
