Apologies if this has already been reported on the site, delete this topic if it has. I did a quick search but didn't see anything and so thought I'd post this link:
clicky clicky
Spoiler put in WHITE text
I've often thought that during a Multi-Doctor story they should have a future doctor. Nothing major, more of a comedy moment right at the end when everything has been wrapped up - just the opening of a TARDIS door and shot from the legs down, - like the woman who shouts "Thomas!" in various Tom and Jerry episodes.
But maybe we'll get the full thing...?
I'm not entirely sure how what I think of this one, I'm very excited about the other big rumour (the PM one), but this seems big to work into future episodes, unless a big casting decision has already been made.
It might be a load of cobblers, or it might be right.
EDIT: The link isn't working for me, so here's it direct: http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/tv/news/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=9648073
EDIT - Link Fixed - cheers, daveac

Good to see you all speaking like a pirate!
You know with so many rumours suddenly flying around, it feels to me like someone out there might be trying to distract us from something big going down? Just a sneaking suspicion... |

| At this point, if they did a story like this, it will simply fuel rumors that said met individual is going to be the replacement. |

It looks like somebody heard something from somebody who remembered his friend hearing his co-worker read a discussion on a scifi forum about an OG forum spoiler thread... in other words, much lost in translation. The first hand rumours/set reports were posted on OG during filming. We will see that there are some grains of truth, but the story has been distorted. |

so...
spoilerly musing in white
David Morrissey as Doctor 11... you know that will make me a happy fangirl ^_^
But of course, it is still a rumour.
I'm adopting the wait and see approach. |

David Morrissey in period costume in the upcoming xmas special.
Could this rumour have been sprouted due to his style of dress in this special (if someone saw this image without knowing the when it was supposed to be set)?
The Sun article that started it all here (Spoiler warning - but if you got this far in this thread you probably don't need a warning)
Cheers,
Louis

I just saw the movie, The Water Horse (2007). There is an actor in the movie that seemed familiar. But it wasn't until the end credits rolled that I realised it is David Morrissey playing the part of Captain Hamilton in the film.
He reminded me a bit of Liam Neeson, at least in this movie. I am now looking forward to his performance in the upcoming Christmas special.
Cheers,

David Morrissey is great.
I've been a fan of his, ever since I watched Blackpool (2004) last year, where he plays the main character 'Ripley Holden' who was, let's say, a very interesting character, and plus he and David Tennant play off each other really well in that.
So, I've been looking forward to this christmas in a major way even before I heard about this rumour.
Now, I break into fangirl mode whenever I think about it. ^^

I don't believe this 'He's the next doctor' rumour at all. He'll be someone who thinks/pretends he is.
But with me being a sporting chap - If Morrissey is the next Doctor, I will strip off and run around Cardiff Bay. For charity of course.
Now, where did I put my copy of 'You Are The Quarry'? |

I doubt it's true either, but wouldn't it be interesting if it is.
I know me and quite a few other fangirls I know would be cheering.

There is one possibility to be considered:
The doctor shoved back-up doctor #2 off into the alternate universe with Rose. Fine. But what about that universe's own doctor? Surely there's a duplicate there already (though he may look a little different)?
So...
a) Mignt the other universe doctor be annoyed at back-up doctor being dropped in his lap? And...
b) Might he have come over here assuming he was also trying to sort out the medusa cascade incident?
We could have a second doctor floating around somewhere looking for a plotline to make unnecessarily complex... |

Although I can't quote an exact source, I believe RTD has stated that Rose's universe had no alternate Gallifrey or alternate Doctor...which isn't to say the writers might reconsider this idea, but I think he's gone on record saying this wasn't the case. |
