That article suggests the restored War Games is going to be an absolute revelation in terms of sound and picture quality. Very exciting.
Also, the Keys of Marnius article about rediscovering and restoring shots cut since first transmission just shows the amount of effort that goes into these DVDs. I'm truly grateful to the Restoration Team.
Incidentally, if people are wondering why there has been no announcement of a Davison DVD for 2009 so far, dont worry. I understand from the chatter on the RT forum that it will be a Black Guardian trilogy box set (Mawdryn Undead, Terminus, Enlightenment)

They didn't actually restore video shots to The Keys of Marinus, they reinserted missing audio "Using various combinations of cutaways, composite images and retiming" to cover the missing video frames. This was also done for the missing video frames in 'The War Machines'.
Matthew Parkes of 2e stated that there would be no November or December releases. If I recall, the release rate is 10 releases a year. The announced releases so far are:
1) E-Space Trilogy - Full Circle, State of Decay and Warriors' Gate. (26 January 2009) (1st 2009 Box Set)
2) The Rescue / The Romans (23 Feb 2009) (2nd 2009 Box Set)
3) Attack of the Cybermen (16 Mar 2009)
4) The War Games
5) The Keys of Marinus
6) Dalek War - Frontier in Space / Planet of the Daleks (3rd 2009 Box Set)
7) Delta and the Bannermen
8) Image of the Fendahl
9) The Deadly Assassin
10) ???
That adds up to 13 announced titles and 3 boxed sets. Do we know for certain how many titles and boxed sets will be released in 2009? |

Yep, you're right and I realised that but worded it terribly.

I believe the Davison box set would complete the list for 2009.
Last year there were either 14 or 17 serials released depending on whether you count Trial as one story or not. This is the kind of rate needed to have all complete serials released by the end of 2012 which has been stated as the aim in the past. |

| Outpost Gallifrey has the news about 'The Keys of Marinus' in which they state that there are 11 release slots instead of 10 for 2009. Which means that there could be either 3 or 4 stories yet to be announced this year, assuming one of those is a box set. Here's hoping for some more Pertwee stories. |

Based on the new DWM there is a box set and one more single story still to be announced for 2009 in the UK (making 11 releases in all).
Smart money is on a Black Guardian Trilogy Box Set. But as for the other single story - that's anyone's guess.
The US Schedule is shaping up ok too - and presumably there will be 6 releases in the 2nd half of 2009, to match the 6 in the first half. Hoping we get "The Rescue/The Romans", "The War Games", and the Dalek War set pretty quickly! |

| The most likely story to complete the schedule (assuming that the remaining boxset is The Black Guardian trilogy) is The Twin Dilemma as it has a trailer classified on the BBFC website. |

Personally, I would prefer a Peladon boxed set since there appears to be no Pertwee stories in that list. They might bypass Davison since R2 had 3 Davison stories released last year, 'Warrior's of The Deep', 'Black Orchid', and 'Four to Doomsday'. They have released both Peladon stories on CD, so they probably had the tapes in to be processed.
They have 15 more Pertwee stories, but only 9 more Davison stories to release between now and 2012.
I guess it all depends on how many stories they will actually release. |

Ahh...well...the DWM article is pretty clear - 5 stories, 3 releases, and 1 boxset.
We know that one story is The Keys of Marinus, and math tells us that the boxset must be 3 stories - which means it can't be Peladon.
So, yes, The Twin Dilemma is likely (but would they release 2 Colin Baker's in the same year, effectively finishing up those releases? Or perhaps it could be McCoy or another T Baker? (I believe Steve Roberts has hinted that Pertwee fans will be "half as happy" as they should have been in 2009, indicating that its unlikely to be another Pertwee.
But, as usual, time will tell!

| I dread those Guardian episodes. So many of the Davison ones just plod along. But at least it isn't 'Kinda' or 'Snakedance'. |
