Hello All
I thought I'd start a thread for this one day convention as I know a few of us who are members here will be attending.
Website for the event here
This one day event is being organised by Erica Egerton who organised the previous 'Who at the Cavern' events in Liverpool. I seem to recall she was interviewed on Podshock when she was organising one of the Cavern events.
Guests confirmed so far include:-
TWO former television Time Lords;
SYLVESTER McCOY (Seventh Doctor)
COLIN BAKER (Sixth Doctor)
Plus companions
MARK STRICKSON (Turlough)
SOPHIE ALDRED (Ace)
FRAZER HINES (Jamie)
NICOLA BRYANT (Peri)
along with
TOBY HADOKE (Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf
CHARLIE ROSS (Comedian)
I believe more tickets have just been released so if you haven't already got one get in there quick!
If you want more info there's a long thread over at 'The Doctor Who Forum' which the organiser is posting in - see here
I've got my ticket - anybody else going? |

Given the list of guests, that's a really good deal for the money. Certainly seems a lot better value than comparable 10TH Planet events.......
Strange it's the Sunday and not the Saturday - that probably knocks it out of the equation for me (added to the fact I'm a bit broke right now). |

I would love to go and I agree seems really good value for money.
What is not good value for money, however, is the train fare from Brighton. I reckon it would cost somewhere in the region of eighty quid or I could go up by coach the day before but then the hotel...
Boo hoo! When is somebody going to hold one in Brighton? |

I didnt realise (when I posted about it being a Sunday) it's a Bank Holiday the day after.
I'd usually always up for stuff like this, but I couldnt leave til Saturday evening, couple of nights in a hotel, train fare to north west (easier said than done given our country's transport system is usually in engineering lockdown at weekends)......I don't think I can justify the cost.
And all that assumes it's not sold out anyway. |

AHHHHHHHHHH looks like I've made a cock up on the journey time, I've just double checked my route on Google maps and it seems it's a 4hr journey for me not a 3hr. Nevermind, I'll just have to get up earlier.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing everybody there on Sunday. I've managed to get an excellent Twitter client for my Nokia phone so I intend to tweet during the day, if you wish to follow me then please do:-

I've just realised that this is the same club that used to be called 'Cult TV'. I had many a good drink in there, trying to chat up the full-size dalek that they had and all that.
But I seem to remember it being very small, for a convention anyway. You also have to descend a rather dodgy staircase to enter! So you've been warned! |

Well, I'm packed and the bags are ready to put in the car first thing in the morning. I shall be leaving here at about 6am and have a 4 hour drive ahead of me.
See you there. |
