In the Five Doctors... When Jon P first sees the Master in Bessie he says something that I cannot 'understand' when he realises who he is. It is just one word but I wondered if it is his name or I am just hard of hearing.
I have been unable to work it out even with rewinding several times. Help! |

| I may go back and watch the serial again sometime, but Jon Pertwee doesn't see the Master as he knows him. He knows the Master as Roger Delgado, and sees him here as the Anthony Ainley regeneration, and wouldn't instantly recognise him as such. |

| If I remember correctly, he says "Jehosephat". He could be simply making an expression of surprise using a shortened form of the phrase "jumping Jehosephat" |

Well I wish my memory was better - but just as the Doctor uses the name 'Dr John Smith' sometimes - the Master also had one.
In 'The Daemons' where he is a Vicar, in 'The Sea Devils' where he is a prisoner (hope my memory is getting this right) and in a third story (can't remember the title) where he is at a research centre trying to bring a creature through a portal ( it involves time slowing down for eveyone other than the doctor as they run into the building)
I think in each of these badly remembered stories the Master used the same name.
Anyone?

Didn't he use variations on the word "Master," sometimes in other languages? I don't think he ever used the same one twice.
