I am interested to hear if you have been influenced by such things as Doctor Who in your life.

As a child I watched it from Troughton and I do wonder if it is why I am now a physicist.

These days I think that there are fewer role models from bright kids to aspire to in the same way as they have for sports stars. I think the Doctor has a potential place there (feel fee to think me mad)

Oh my... I think there are so many influences it has made in my life. Such as not being content to sit and watch... but I rather get involved and make difference somehow. I also believe it has influenced me on being my own individual... going against the grain and not caring what others think. Have my own sense of fashion and not following the masses... How humour plays a part in life even in dire situations. The appreciation of classic sensibilities and beauty of the past while integrating into forward thinking future technology... and finding the balance between the two.

Oh so many different ways.... I won't even get into the whole lonely wonderer thing either... There is so much there in the series that I see in my life.

A few years ago I was required to take time off from work ill and I refound Doctor Who. I realised how much of my basic personality I had based on this wonderful character. As Louis says the going against the grain, the doing what's right not what's popular, the inquisitive nature, the basic assumption that all things can be worked out and that good will win.

The broad general knowledge the doctor had I always admired and the way he could talk to anyone of any level and empathise with people. I think in many ways I am still striving towards the ideals as presented by the Doctor.

Great role model. After all how many other hero's carry a tool not a weapon? Definately someone I am encouraging my children to watch and learn from.

Was not the 9th Doctors "Half the world too fat, the other half too thin and all you do is watch TV" a call to action?

    Inspirational stuff.

    Practice acts of random kindness.
