I was talking to a new colleague yesterday, we ended up talking about Doctor Who. Anyway, the house used in The Empty Child was his mother-in-laws! You saw the house from the outside, but I think most of the filming was done in the studio.

I asked if she got anything (I meant memorabilia) - he said she got 700 and autographs from the cast. She said the kids loved it and they all got the casts autographs too.

I'll e-mail him tomorrow and ask if there are any photos from it.

Just got a reply from Gareth, his mum-in-law didn't take any pictures herself, but the local BBC website has a behind the scenes series of pictures:

If you need an excuse to go back and watch The Empty Child again Wink do so just to keep an ear on the soundtrack. My partner pointed out that there's a recurring clarinet figure that mimics Jamie's call of "Mum-my!"

Murray Gold, you are a brilliant, brilliant man!

I couldnt have put it better. I've always really liked all the assorted Who music CDs, but they're mainly interesting to listen to, or nice, evocative background music if you're reading or something.

The current series soundtrack is just fantastic - and the 2 Divine Comedy tracks are exceptional.

Nothing dies of old age on Skaro!
