Is it something that was not seen in the trailer for next week's episode?

Sorry - but I'm going to follow up my own post.
IF this is a 'real' spoiler - then WHY????
Why would they put that on the cover - even people who don't buy the Radio Times will see the picture.
A picture of a figure with a brown paper bag would have been better.
Very bad judgement in my opinion.

I'm gonna try and keep myself spoiler-free this series... I think I know too much already! |

Did you say "74,384,338 to 1 against"? That's my lucky number!

I as well... As difficult as it is for me. I just can't believe that the RT would reveal something like this (I don't know what it is yet)... I would be very disappointed if I was happened across this cover if I was a resident in the UK.
I wonder if RTD and company are fuming over it, or was it deliberate perhaps to drum up the viewing figures?
Cheers,

Yes - and the RT is the biggest selling magazine in the UK. It's visible in every supermarket and newsagent and general store. ie. unavoidable

I doubt that the RT would do this without the green light from the production team. It would have been wosre if Gridlock caused the episode to be delayed a week... |

Bummer! RT did something similar last year revealing the Cyber Leader design. But, as has been mentioned, it's obviously got to be with the blessing of the production team.

BBC Doctor Who news page - Radio Times (Spoiler!)
Indeed the production staff released it, RTD is quoted as saying "But we love a Radio Times cover - how could we not?"
Yes I think it reveals too much, but I suppose there are sweeps there as well .
Cheers,

Well I emailed a complaint:-
'Dear Editor,
Why, oh why, did you put such a spoiler image relating to Dr Who on the cover of this issue 21st - 27 th April.
I'm very upset - you can't avoid seeing it and it is such a MAJOR spoiler as to the very nature of the story ie. not just that Daleks are in the story but how they have 'evolved' or been developed.
It least if the item was referred to on the cover with the image being inside - then it could be avoided.
A cover image with the head obscured in some way and the mention of the full image inside would have achieved the selling point without making it impossible to avoid.
Regards, Dave Cooper'
Sent at 1.30pm and got this reply 10 minutes later:-
'Thank you for your email,
I am sorry if you feel we have given away too much, though we haven't gone into much detail and as Russell T Davies explains in our feature it wasn't a decision he took lightly.
I will pass on your comments.
Kind regards,

But how do we know it reveals too much? When we actually see the episode(s) it may turn out the character we have seen on the cover is totally insignificant and has nothing much at all to do with the plot.
RTD has said he likes to drop things in just to wind up the fans on the internet. this could be one of these situations? Considering how stressed they got about the black Dalek being rolled out in public (at the BAFTAS?) I can't believe they would allow the RT to use something if it was a major spoiler. |
