More white text follows.
Spoilers/rumours etc from OG.
Jacobi plays a stand alone character and is nothing to do with Simm nor the Master.
Simm plays Saxon, the current Prime Minister. He came to power after Harriet Jones lost the election.
Saxon is a nasty guy but is only a real bad guy after his body gets taken over by a certain other person...
...The Master is back in the finale. He takes Saxon's body. He has been able to then travel in time (you'll see how in a moment), appearing in places just like Bad Wolf did before, and generally messing around whilst assuming the ID of Saxon. That accounts for him cropping up throughout the series.
How did the Master get out / back / free and into the body of Saxon? He escaped the time war because he was "in" the tardis. He escaped when Rose and Mickey pulled the panel off. His evil hid and waited for the right body / opportunity (this idea has been apparently lifted from Hellraiser 3).
The Master is not a timelord, but is the "not alone" that Boe mentioned. Hence not wrong.
The Master becomes a timelord again however by splicing himself with the Doctors DNA. He body jumps from Saxon to the Doctor to attempt this (thats the burning / glowing eyes sequence).
The painful looking helmet / torture device sequence is the Doctor trying to force the Master out. This works but then the Master is a time lord once again, having taken some of the Doctor's DNA.
The cliffhanger at the end of the series is two fold. The first is did the Doctor rid himself of the Master and, if so, where did the Master go (Simm is not on for series 4 - he is the host for the Master for the finale until the Master jumps from him into the Doctor and then that is it). The second cliffhanger is the big explosion seen from the Tardis. Its a world, but is it Earth or is it Gallifrey?
Take it for what it's worth and/or how accurate it is...

All you have to do is watch The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, The Two Doctors or listen to the Big Finish audio The Sirens of Time.

Possible plot (spoiler if correct)
White Text:-
Somehow Mr Saxon is the Master (or taken over by the Master) and either someting attacks him or his (Saxon's body) can't support the Master.
Martha is kidnapped and the Doctor has to let the Master have his body to get Martha released.
Series 3 cliffhanger is the Master in the Doctor's body ie. Pressto Changeo

The ring so reminds me of The Omega Factor. I don't believe it took me so long to recognize this. |

The way the Doctor appears to be grilling Martha "what exactly do you to for him" seems to lend credence to your theory. |

I guaruntee that particular clip is from 'Human Nature'/'The Family of Blood' - as is the clip with the 'machine' on his head (scary!) him leaning nonchalently upon a fireplace and kissing an unknown bride. This is where the Doctor changes his bio-datato become human - one would anticipate a particularly painful process.
The 'glowing eyes' clip is from 42 - the space suit/lighting/going into the sun/strange possessing disease - all point to this episode.
I'm sceptical about the doctor => Master idea. While it's an interesting concept I haven't yet seen anything apart from DT looking a bit gloomy/spooky at the end to corroborate it. I think this clip could be explained away by a number of other ideas:
> A hardening, less jovial doctor, for next series following the loss of both Martha and Rose?
> The destruction of Harold Saxon (whoever he is) - if the man is family and 'evil' I doubt that his anihilation would ever cause the doctor to ;loosen up a bit'.
> the return of a more Eccleston like characterisation?
just a few for good measure? |

When I saw the trailer I thought Saxon was tapping in Morse code (possibly as a way to communicate to the outside world in an emergency situation?).
I'm sure the Doctor can understand Morse. Can any of you guys and girls on the forum translate the tapping if it is in Morse code?
Cheers, Liyster. |
