I'm curious about Mrs. Saxon as well. Is she human? Is she one of these Toclafane in human form? Is she a Eva Braun type character? She seems remorseful about the reporter being killed, but takes joy in the Master "killing" Jack ala Spike and Drusilla from Buffy. I think there is more to her than her bad dancing at the end and pearls.
I dont know if any of you saw the Confidential but they didn't mention her at all and that makes me believe she has some vital role in the next episode.
I also wonder if the Master really cares about her as a companion/wife. If she were to die would he be upset, or would be he be like eh, she served a purpose. Would be interesting if she dies and the Master is as torn up about her as the Doctor was about Rose. It would kind of be another parallel for them.
Edited to add... I wonder if there is something to learn off the "official" Harold Saxon website since they talk about her there and her background. On another note, I love the title of Mr. Saxon's bestselling novel on the site as well, "Kiss Me, Kill Me." LOL  The accompanying press photo is a hoot. |

Hey Esco,
Loved San Antonio when I visited there in January of '05 for another one of your professional sports - hockey! Especially since I'm from MA, and January in MA is usually around 20 degrees F, and we were walking around the Alamo and the Riverwalk in t-shirt and shorts.
I liked your "professional sports" analogy. I would rate the "mid-season" part as the All-Star Influence (pre and post, which seem to affect the performance of teams in any given sport.)
Funny that, I enjoyed this episode, but recognized it for what it was - Act II in playwriting. This is where the action lags but the audience gets most of the information it needs to appreciate Act III. Act II is usually the parts that the audience hates to sit through, but usually you can't understand/appreciate what goes on in Act III without Act II.
Well, there's my twopence. Back to the regularly scheduled debates. |

ie. it's a 50 minute episode!!!!

I've gotta say, it would have been brilliant if the BBC had purposely let slip that the Master would be appearing in this years series so that we only focused on that and then BAM oh here's Romana! Actually I too and holding out for The Rani.
Of course, since when has the Beeb been brilliant lately? |
