As per Dave's request, here is the thread for the Ultimate episode for S3.
BBC site has just a few more pix (EDIT-15 exactly, and no spoilers really) for this, precious few spoilers....YET.

They showed a preview of tomorrow night's Doctor Who finale and while Barrowman said he wasn't going to give away any spoilers he did let slip the phrase [spoiler] "the fate of the Timelords" [/spoiler] and suggested it was in the hands of the Master. |

I'll be brief (and, proabably, annoying cryptic)
- The Doc doesn't regenerate.
- Martha remembers something from an earlier episode that really helps her.
- Captain Jack isn't a Timelord. The truth itself would break your heart and, not wanting to ruin anything for saturday, I really can't tell you. The only clues I'm prepared to give: FOB, the last days of the Time War, Wolverine)
- Tish needs a shorter skirt
- Leo could have worked at Butlins.
- Jack and the Doctor can never meet again (at least in this regeneration)
- Not all 'Doctors' died in the Time War
- There is a sort of 'reset' button, but it doesn't apply to three people.
- Handsome guys with 5 o'clock shadows tend to die in a very unvaliant way.
- "You won't!" "I will."
- "Nostalgia isn't what it used to be." (a charcter then dies)
- The Toclafane are unused Timelord regenerations. They're angry as hell!
Thats all.

Well I always assumed that Jack was human, other than that all we know is that he was a former time agent ( whoever they are ), I certainly don't recall them saying he wasn't from earth. |

well having just watched the episode, i have to say that i am looking forward to watching it again, but this time after utopia and tsod. there was a lot crammed in there, a lot to take in, and also a lot unanswered (for me).
if jack is in fact the face of boe, then the master surely must have known this? i was hoping that it would be explained how the professor ended up on the silver devastation, and how his name was an acronym of "you are not alone". despite this, it did tie up a few odd ends with regards to the rest of utopia which was nice.
surely the master isn't dead? and who was it that picked up his ring at the end?
4/5. wanted to give it a full 5, but despite enjoying it a lot it just didn't hit the spot i really wanted it to. i thought the "power of words" thing was just way too corny. |

That little sequence reminded me of the end of the Flash Gordon movie. If the painted fingernails weren't a red herring (pardon the pun) then there really can only be one person who took it. This would perhaps tie in with her constant 'spaced-out' look throughout the story. Perhaps she's not the only one in there, so to speak. |

I absolutely agree - that bit was naff.
Purely on principle (and some people will say this is naff too) I'm gonna give this episode 5/5. That's also 5/5 for this series, for Martha, for Captain Jack, for John Simm's outrageously nutty Master (which I know some people don't like), for Collinson/Gardner & RTD, and 5/5 for The Doctor. It's been a fantastic rollercoaster of a ride, with some of the best Doctor Who I've ever seen. They've truly done us proud.
On this episode.... I'd have liked the 1st 40 minutes to have been a bit better. It definitely had its good points; John Simm was marvellous, Martha was a true hero, as The Master died The Doctor displayed humanity beyond on all sense or reason (which I didnt like at the time and I'm still not sure about now - I've warmed to it slightly having watched Confidential) and music that was used throughout was just perfect. All that said, there was for me something missing. Maybe it'll grow on me (last weeks episode has for sure).
The last 5 minutes were just brilliant. The scene with Jack, Martha & Doctor was a short one, but it so worked. And the final scenes with Martha were also just spot on. Although the original rumours of her leaving at the end of this series havent been proved completely true, she's definitely had the last laugh with that performance. Superb. Wonderful. I've almost got a tear in my eye as type.

Well - apart from the first few minutes - I thought it was Excellent!
It was a brilliant episode absolutely full of great ideas.
Lot's more to say - I'll be wittering on about it Sunday!
Like before I'm going to watch this a couple of times to catch everything - but they really pushed the boat out with this one - and pushed it back in again at the end
As to the Master - and his wife - I think together they pulled the great escape!
5/5 - no question!
