The FA Cup match between WBA and Pompey should not be an issue on April 5th as the match starts at 3pm rather than 5:15pm.

Weird. The BBC is listing it at 3pm, which is at the same time as that day's regular league games. Both are unusual start times for an FA Cup semi-final. As the BBC also has the Grand national that same afternoon and a 12:15pm kick-off would be a direct conflict for them. I guess we shouldn't be surprised if it gets moved back to 5:15pm after all.

I read someplace that matches can not be televised at 3pm (something about not interfering with local match attendence, or something like that), so that time slot appears odd... |

West Brom v Portsmouth, SF, 15:00
That's the norm and it is indeed odd. Generally they don't want people staying home and watching premiership games on tv rather than attending local games. Elsewhere on the BBC site I've found a listing that says 12:15pm.
Either way it still won't interfere with Doctor Who.

Programme Information Network TV Week 15 lists Doctor Who as airing the week of April 5th, but the cheeky BBC has it listed as "unplaced" in the schedules. I guess they are still trying to keep ITV guessing... Most likely slot? April 5th at 7 pm??? |

I'm a sad panda.
I was hoping that it wasn't going to be 'that' weekend, simply because I'll be away from home that whole weekend miles and miles away interstate in Brisbane attending a convention.
The convention will be great.
My having to wait til I get home 2 days later to 'obtain' it and then watch it, and also missing the live podcast the next day, isn't.
It's great to finally have a date, but I was really hoping for it to be either 29th March or the 15th April, when I'm not in another state.

The lads will be recording at I-con 27, so you will not be missing a TalkShoe podcast, as I assume that the recording will not be on TalkShoe. See I-con 27 recording of Podshock for any further details as they become apparent.

Truth is, Sky have bought all the PREMIERSHIP viewing rights as they, or the Broadcasting authority, have banned showing matched between 3pm and 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure of the real reason why, but i'm guessing it's linked with ratings.
The BBC hold the rights for FA Cup games (otherwise known as Royal games, as there's normally a member of the Royal Family at the final) and these may be shown on Saturday afternoon on BBC1.
Nevertheless, i don't think the beeb will sacrifice it's flagship show just for the sake of the few people with tv's from a quarter of Brum or some glory hunters from a stinky southern port ::begin rant:: whose Cup Tied striker couldn't even make our starting XI! (i'll mention no names JD JD!) ::/end rant::

d'oh! Bussssted!
It's not easy balancing a life which loves both Doctor Who and the idiotic, drunken, Neanderthal glee of busting heads of rival fans with metal poles for the respect and loyalty of like minded idiotic, often drunk, Neanderthals.
If only they could mix the two?!
Besides, it was yourself, TardisKnight and MikeD wot started all that football malarky...i'm just finishin it! LOL
EDIT - P.S. it doesn't qualify! |
