Here's a couple of insane thoughts to chew on:
What if it was Rose who picked up the Master's ring at the end of Last of the Time Lords ?
What if it was Romana or Susan ( or the terrible Zodin ) that was the mysterious woman that's coming ? |
|
I was thinking more of Sarah Jane, since she is always grabbing alien artifacts |
|
Hmmm Sarah Jane possessed by the Master, that could work and it be something new since nothing like that has ever happened to her before |

One just presses the QUOTE button on the post you want to quote, and be careful not to mess with the tags unless you are confident you can get them right. Just one problem, and you get a blank post, though the text is still there and an admin or moderator can fix it in most cases. |

Thank you very much kind sir. A very good day to you! |

And, if you are feeling adventurous, you can even edit your post yourself... |

And yes, i also found the theme song different. |

Did you like it? I didn't like it much. Perhaps it'll grow on me (it'll have to, if it stays the same) |

You could use the time to put the kettle on, or to grab some jelly puddin' with ice cream… it is tea time, after all. (Regardless of when you watch Doctor Who, it is tea!) |

TYPICALLY, I use it as a last run to the toilet/loo/w.c. before good stuff is on! (yes, even when I've got the abilit to pause it, I just refuse to!) Or, is that WTMI? |

Ok - even though I though episodes 1 & 2 had slightly different themes, I've just had to listen to both of them again and they do seem the same as each other. So - that was just me inventing things again I think
I like last season but this new one is quite good - trying to make you "wait for it" in the beginning, de-emphasizing certain parts of the tune - adding that late 90's electric guitar whine in it and then the piano coming in at the end to like, jerk you back from the brink of electro.
I like that they shake things up. After all, The Doctor changes appearance but remains the same essential being, so why not his theme tune

Nothing can compare to the techniques used by Delia Derbyshire to realize the original version. Until someone goes back and splices tape together for the loops and uses multiple recorders to mix the additional tracks spending weeks of effort for those 3 or so minutes of perfection, we will not have a version worthy of comparison. Being able to slap together a version on a modern synth or sequencer in a few hours and add a few bells and whistles just can not match the other worldly quality of Delia's work.
Howell's take in 1980 comes closest to the feel of the original, but, no disrespect to the composers, I don't think anyone has captured the idea of the original. |

This has got to be the best episode set in the past!
I cottoned on to the CLC jokes very quickly, (yes, Its still being used in secondary school), its nice to know that your learning the same stuff that RTD learnt!
I definately had Rani thoughts. |

| Loved it, loved it, loved it - especially after the 'strangely cute' factor in 'Partners'. As Idiom said, the OMG factor when 'the decision' emergs..very Genesis moment indeed - loved it. Looking forward to the Ood... |

I'm sorry, Mags. I have to let my geek colors fly proudly. Did you mean frozen in Carbonite, a la Han Solo?

4.5/5 tardis groans
fabulous episode even with a few usual silly plot holes & odd choices of shots n lines,
i almost gave it a 5 just for giving respect to the witchcraft element,i am impressed the witches & pagans were not just the usual misogynist cheesy villians & the doctor actually mentions his admiration for the morals of the original sibyl & a sense of subvertion of those using magic for selfish ends..
i think they should have mentioned mithras though, especially when using religious style imagery
as i feel this may confuse people instead of enlightening them due to the veiled & exploited nature of that myth..
