Mr. Sin from The Talons of Weng-Chiang. It's hard to tell if that was a joke or just bad spelling, as many would say Wang Chung are talentless, while others would dispute that...
Daleks don't accept apologies! YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!
I'd say after the smashing job Tate did in "Pompeii," the monkey is clearly off now.
As to what it could REALLY be (pertinent to the storyline), I like what Taras said about the Empress of the Racnoss in the Pompeii thread - seems potentially relevant, considering it fits with all the old-school attention to "Planet of the Spiders" right now - perhaps there will be a correlation revealed? I kind of doubt it, but who knows!
I'm surprised the rest of what was said by Evelina about Donna hasn't garnered as much attention, if not more - the bit about "her true name being scattered amongst the stars," or however it was said (forgive me if I misquote or misreference this - I've only watched it once thus far, due to a rather busy weekend). That seemed even more ominous to me, immediately suggesting her fate will be sealed in the finale for sure. Martyr for impending chaos, perhaps?
A 'chip' because she knows some of us are not too keen on her being the companion
She did a good job in episode 1 - but that was it appears her 4 outing.
In episode 2 I didn't like her except I hold my hands up - in the last 20 minutes and the big emotional section at the end she was great.
There - I've said it (a qualified) she was great.

Ok - time to resurrect this thread, leading up to this weekend's Donna-centric episode. We've seen a glimpse of something in the preview after "Midnight" - thoughts? Ideas? Fears? Suspicions?
Personally, my feeling is it's going to be something "new," in a sense - I don't think it will tie back to anything in the literal sense of something we've seen before - there will be relevance to something we've seen in terms of cross-wired story elements, I'm sure (like where/when/how she picked it up) - but it won't be some 'classic' threat come back to haunt us (ala "Planet of the Spiders"). At least, I don't think so. You never know, though...
I think that it will link in with the Runaway Bride. I saw Catherine tate and David Tennant interviewed and without revealing too much they did say that RTD had tied back into some episodes from previous series that he hadn't intended to at the time they were written/aired. That's my vote.
Looks like a spider a la "planet of the spiders" to me. But it could be a baby Racknos (sp?) left over from the runaway bride. Lightning from the fingertips in the trailer would have been great.
Looks like Donna's going to die though!

[Quote by: Doctor Whoovie] Looks like Donna's going to die though!
I'm not convinced... yet. It will have to actually happen and be completely unflinching in how it occurs for me to buy it. All signs point to it, yes - but remember - Rose was supposed to be "the valiant child who will die in battle" too - and that didn't quite pan out as expected.
I think they've got something up their sleeve, yet again. If the Doctor can save River Song in such an unorthodox and unique way, I find it hard to believe Donna will die and "stay dead." Even Astrid didn't really "die." It just seems too harsh, too abrasive. There's no drama unless they dance around the issue with teases and the uncertainty of it all - I just doubt she'll truly "die" ala Adric - not a companion's death handled that way on the current revived series - just can't see it.
