I think from the way it was described one could survive in the void if you had the right equipment or if you didn't need anything to live you could survive.Like if someone fell into the void with a space suite they would be fine till they ran out of oxygen. The purpose of the void ship was to allow you control your movments in the void and to keep you alive and to let you come back into a world.

Also the Cybermen said they followed the void ship so maybe the Cult somehow fell into Pete's world then built the ship to get back. If that were true I wounder what they would have done with that time in Pete's world besides build the void ship?

right...just rewatched the end of season 2. Really looking forward to Rose returning now (and Jackie!).

That said, the basic key points were that the Cult of Skaro built the void ship as a means of ultimate survival. Worst case scenario - hide between universes in the void ship, with I guess the stolen timelord dalek prison.

The void ship punched into Canary Wharf and broke down the barrier between us and Pete's world. Torchwood there found a way of making use of that, and the cybermen took 3 years crossing the void to get here. At the end, they all got pulled back into the void and the breach was sealed.

So....basically in this void between universes are a bunch of Daleks and Cybermen floating around. There is no indication that either forms would need any special needs to survive there. (Not sure if cybermen need oxygen or not). Since they must have breeched the void to get the ship in there, no reason to think they couldn't do it again to recover them.

At least that's my take on that all. As far as Davros - last we saw of him was in his emperor casing in Rememberence in an escape pod, so we'll see.

Well at some point all this stuff has to tie back to the ring we saw picked up from the dirt last season.

So if it is Davros and if the ring-snatcher is The Rani maybe she's been making mischief with her Tardis? You know, collecting "things" and/or wotnot?

If Worzel Gummidge and the Third Doctor had a fist fight - who would win?

and she could have snatched davros out of time before skaro blew up.

Sounds like a certain ex-companion, maybe they can make a spin-off series with her as the main star, and somehow get rid of the Tin-Dog?!

I'm hoping that was just a way out/long term setup. Too soon for a return

I agree. I don't think the ring has anything to do with this season. I always thought that was just to setup a Master and/or Rani storyline for some point in the future. Possibly 1 of the 4 specials next year, but probably not until series 5 or beyond.
