So I am now going to go on record and say that this is my favourite season since Doctor Who returned. In my opinion season 4 has had the strongest consecutive run of episodes to date. That’s seven in a row that have blown me away. I’m loving it.
I’m going to keep it simple this week: What I didn’t like: absolutely nothing!
What I loved: the concept, the realisation, the characters, Steven Moffat. If only we could go back in time and get him to re-write Fear Her. Imagine what he could do with that!
As usual, Donna goes from strength to strength. She really was the last best hope for companions and I wish she was going to be in the series for at least another season. Ah well. Please don’t kill her off! “It doesn’t work on wood!” Fab! One in the eye for the sonic screwdriver and a sign maybe of things to come from Steven Moffat’s tenure?
River Song? What? What? WHAT? Intrigued!!! Not half! How often does it happen that you sit at the end of an episode and shout “I can’t wait another week to find out what happens!”
A whopping great 5 out of 5! Loved it loved it loved it! Can’t wait for more!
So much more to say but I think that it is going to have to wait for next week! Roll on! |

I don't know what to say. Its either the first part of the best two parter we've had. or its part one of a huge let down. But I do agree this is the best series (at the moment!) we've had, so far!
I did think for one second that River Song was Bernice Summerfield, but I expelled it as pure madness!
I'll post a review when i've seen it again! |

P.S. It is of course possible that this message is a trap. If it is I can deal with it. P.P.S. I'm leaving this note in case I can't!

Ok, that was brill. Still have the shivvers, no matter what it certainly wet my appitite for when Moffat takes the reins. Horray for more Time Travel stories that actually INVOLVE Temporial disparity. River Song is the gateway to a bigger Moffat arc and I, for one, can't wait. |

I'm loving this episode...one rather obvious theory here:
POTENTIAL SPOILER
'Saved' is an expression describing the process whereby a person's head becomes one of those information things (as with Donna), I think that all 2000..whatever people who were saved but didn't survive became those things, hence 'Was donated BY this man on the OCCASION of his death'...um...apart from that...I'm just waiting to be amazed!!
Nice to see thingmedoo from St. Trinians! |

"Ah.. well... this will be the exception!"

"I travel in time. I point my finger and laugh at archeologists".
Is this Moffat getting in a dig at Cornell? |

I agree - this is either the start of the best story ever - or it will end in a muddle.

| Fantastic! As others have said, this is a very strong season and I hope we haven't peaked yet. Great script, good direction, and lots of unanswered questions. Can't wait until next weekend. I'm now spending a lot of time staring at shadows. |

Well... This almost makes me want to revisit Love & Monsters... almost.
Halfway through it, I was twittering that at least there is no talking slabs... and then came the ending. A talking slab on rod is still a talking slab.
At one point, I was looking for a giant attacking scribble as well. Why not.
It did have a few good points. I am glad they finally used the time traveling aspect that the Doctor could met up with someone that he's met in his future so that they would know him but not visa versa. That was the most interesting part of this episode for me.
Cheers,

Really?... Really?
Just the opposite thought ran through my mind when watching it.
Well, to each their own.
Cheers,
Louis
P.S. At least the Candyman wasn't in it.

Definitely an interesting episode. The implications of the ending are very ... scary. I'm developing a nice provocative theory about it. Hint - it is very very different from Love And Monsters.
The one good side about being ill is that I'll be home when Podshock starts for the first time and I should be able to call in. If Lisa is feeling up to it, she had good theories about the episode too. |

Time will tell. It always does, except when it has Laryngitis.
