Now that Doctor Who was pushed back to 7 PM, it ended up against Britain's Got Talent and was trounced in the overnights. This could end up the first new series episode to finish out of the top twenty. It looks like the BBC's decision to air the earlier episodes of the series at 6:20 PM was not as daft as many people have been making it out to be. It will be interesting to see what the timeshifts do to the final ratings.

| If it was up against Britains Got Talent I'm not surprised. ALthough I can truthfully say I've never seen so much as a second of that - it's all everyone's been talking about (at least where I work) since it started. |

| Although, interestingly, the unicorn and the wasp, also in a later time slot, pulled in one of the biggest audiences this season. Last night was the final of Britain's Got No Talent, I think. This may account for the trouncing. |

Britain's Got Talent started an hour later than Doctor Who's start time last week, so there was no direct competition there. |

Well hopefully since it was the final, it won't have the same problem next week.
I said it last night in the podshock chat and I'll say it again.

The Appreciation Index figure for this episode was the highest yet for Doctor WHo. Those that did tune in to Silence in the Library really loved the episode. |

in defence.
i've watched Britians got talent and actually found it quite good once the talent actually had talent. I was very inpressed with the final 3.
I also watched Any Nancy will do every week and didn't like it that much but followed it closely enough to know who everyone was and have a laugh with Barrowman and Humphries. They may be reality TV but they are more like a good old fashioned Talent Show.
I would never watch x factor or any of the others as they are mathatically impossible and MUST be a fix/ way of a record company pushing a product mixed with a freakshow.
I wont watch Big brother as its like a slow death.
Saturday viewing was helped by sky plus allowing full viewing of everything except confidential on the night which taped and I got to see later.
I understand that people don't like these shows but they are BY far the best of a bad lot and as for Eurovision? Thats hardly reality TV. Its got very little basis in reality at all. And is a VERY British thing. kind of.. how hated are we by the rest of Europe check.. and the answer is A LOT. |

Is that why they banished you to that island centuries ago? Or are they still upset that you didn't go for the Euro??? |

At least the Doctor loves the British!
And I wouldn't mind the Euro but they can keep the Eurovision! |
