| This is great news, but lets hope the episode is actually good, otherwise it'll be a Last of the Timelords-style 'clock watching'! |

Honestly, I question whether or not 65 minutes is going to be ENOUGH time. With all that looks to be thrown in between this 2-part finale, I hope there's ample room to make it all work without some major short-shriftage in effect and gigantic plot holes left behind... |

Now, how do we get SciFi to realize that the episode will need a 90 minute timeslot on their channel to be coherent. Charlie Jade has been killed, so there is no *new* programming in the 8PM slot to worry about. Start Journey's End at 8:30PM and 11PM, with Stargate at 10PM and 12:30AM.
CBC needs to be convinced to give 90 minutes too, when they reach the end of the series. |

Joan of Arcadia is on SciFi? I'm so happy I don't pay the extra money to get that channel. |

oh, thank God! I don't think I could stomach trying to "get into" that show for another episode. They killed "The Dresden Files" for that crap? (sorry for the side rant) |

I don't think we have to worry about the Sci-Fi Channel. They have been good about airing the Christmas specials with little or no problem. They will probably repeat the previous episode and the go with the finale. (I HOPE! I HOPE! I HOPE!)
Sci-Fi hasn't listed thier schedule for the day the finale airs yet, so maybe we'll be lucky! |

Charlie Jade was produced in 2004/2005 (Canadian world premiere 2005). The Dresden Files was produced in 2006/2007 (US world premiere 2007). Charlie Jade did not kill The Dresden Files, and vice versa. |

I think SciFi is looking for a program to anchor its Friday night lineup. I assume that they expect it to get a decent viewership to lead into its signature shows (SG:A & BSG). Doctor Who has done well in its Friday night slot, but we are going to be almost two years without a new series/season, so SciFi is most likely looking for another program that can get enough viewers to warrant a slot on Friday evenings to pair with Atlantis or Battlestar. |

V happy.
I get the feeling that it was a standard length script but more was shot than was needed and a long edit just worked well.

Oh, I know it didn't. It was really more of a rant against the minds behind programming at scifi. Let's create our own show, no lets scrap that and put on something else.
I know the two don't really correlate, it just really feels that way sometimes! |

They cut scads out of VOTD,though - including Astrid asking the Doctor if she could come with him (thereby sealing her fate as sure as a red-shirted crewman on Star Trek TOS)! |

True they may cut out some bits but at least they are airing it. Remember we thought that were never going to air "Doctor Who" at all(for a while). |
