Well we had lots to play with and ended up with a RTD ending. More on a rewatch, people kept interupting me

| I'll have to rewatch it, but so far its the worst 2nd part of a 'finale' for me. Was really disapointed in how they followed up last week's stonking opener. |

Well I thought it totally worked - there was payoff after payoff after payoff!
Lot's to rave about on Sunday but was pleased with the mention of Gwen Cooper's early family.
Got to now try and condense 65 minutes into 3!!! ready for PodShock.
Oh well - I'll just have to watch it again.

Anyway, were the BBC showing different versions of Journeys End in different regions because the version I saw was fantastic!!!!!! |

I have to say that I quite liked this. I'm not the biggest fan of RTD or his style of storytelling, but considering the ingredients and mythology that New Who has generated this was a satisfactory way to tie things up.
May be I've just become so accustomed to the fast edits and rushed feel of the series, but it did seem to manage to fit everything and everyone in well. I also thought the contrast between the busyness and then loneliness of the Doctor played out well.
Just hoping now that things might be reworked - a bit more exploration of the actual TARDIS interior (now that we have explored the Doctor's soul), as well as more experimental and challenging story arcs.
It would be a shame if the formula just restarted.
P.S. I never thought Bernard Cribbins would give such a moving performance! Well done sir! And I never thought it possible, but I'll even miss Donna.

I loved it and couldn't take my eyes off my screen. I had no idea how it all was going to wrap up. Hats off to RTD for pulling everything together from season 2.
Great performances by David Tennant and Catherine Tate. The next companion has got a lot to live up to.
For me, this season went very quickly and was very entertaining. I've enjoyed the RTD era and am looking forward to a fresh start in 2010. I'm glad we'll have some specials next year. |

Okay, it was a little harsh to call it the 'worst', it wasn't. On the rewatch, I quite enjoyed it, I still had a few issues but I won't go into them without upsetting the women and prepubescents. No wonder DWO and OG have gone into meltdown. Expect tacky videos and comments appearing on youtube too!
On a brighter note, I think Torchwood will be a 1000 times better with the 'new team' |

Well I'm with the Yeys on this one!
Bliss.
I, for one, absolutely loved it. A few minor criticisms which I have completely forgotten about cos I loved the whole so much. Great. Lots of tied up endings. Best Davros since Genesis. Best Daleks since Dalek. And German Daleks – a posy-modern triumph! Fabulous ensemble cast of which all none were underused. And K-9!
My main problem , I suppose was the use of mumbo-jumbo science to explain away too many things but really I’m willing to forgive anything for a show which moved me as much as the series two finale.
I loved it.

It's nice to know that some of us in the U.S. can view these episodes only a few hours after those who watched in Britain. As season closers go, I must say it was only second to Parting of the Ways. It was a darn good roller coaster ride throughout. I certainly experienced moments of joy, anxiety, and sadness. I can't wait to show it to the rest of the family.
My only real complaint besides building up more tension for the initial cliffhanger resolution was the "mumbo-jumbo science", as Idiom called it. |
