This being my first post here (been lurking for 3 years) I thought I would share something that I haven’t seen posted about.
The season 4 box set at Best Buy is in a steelbook case and retails for $38.73. Not only is in a cool looking case but you just can’t beat the price. Attached is a pic of my copy.

First, welcome to the active side of the forums here, deckard973 (nice screen name).
Wow.. a steelbook case. Who knew? I didn't. Only $38.73 for the box set? Is that a typo?
Mine arrived today... but I didn't get it from Best Buy, but rather Amazon. It's just a regular case though.
Cheers,
Louis |

Blimey - Series 4 is about £40in the UK - so thats nearly $70
When the earlier series came out they were even dearer - £50 or $80.
Cheers, davec

I ordered mine on Monday, for the first time ever on Amazon uk. Because Australia's version doesn't come out til December 4th, and I'm impatient, plus all the pictures I've seen of the Australia version look different to the UK version, and I prefer the UK version.
Cost me nearly $30 extra (damn exchange rate) but hey... who's counting money when it comes to quality XD |

Best Buy has it advertised online for $69.99; I didn't know there was a different version floating around the States. At that price, it smells like a counterfeit, as the box set was just released, and we have only seen special editions released in the UK on region 2. I hope I am wrong, because it would be cool to have a US special release.
Their online description seems to have the episode order messed up...
EDIT: I saw a special retail version for ABC in Oz, so this could be available here as well. The pricing is pretty strange, though. |

I know… I went into Best Buy yesterday to pick up a Blu-ray copy of Wall-e and the Season 4 box set. I figured I would be spending a little over $100 to get both. I picked up my copy of Wall-e and then proceeded to look for the good Doctor. To my utter shock & surprise it was a steelbook and not a cardboard container like seasons 1, 2, &3. Then I did a double take on the sticker price. The sticker itself says Season 4 Dr Who. So it’s the correct sticker. I figure one of two things happened. 1. Someone at Best Buy distribution F-up bad. 2. It was a sticker meant for black Friday.
If anyone is curious I can take pics of the back and inside art when I get home tonight. It even came with a little art book with a forward from Russell T. Last night I watched “Time Crash”, “Doctor’s Daughter” & “Midnight” and everything played correctly.

Some people on another board are saying that the book doesn't even fit in the steelcase box...
I've already received my "normal" version box set via mail order, so I wasn't on the look out for a variant.
Going by the two region 2 variant editions of the first two series, I'd rather get the normal variant, as the collecter's versions don't stand up to heavy use or even just sitting on the shelf... |

| I got it for that price too (after having them call a manager!) - and then took it back because the book didn't fit (I found that on on Steve Manfred's DVD site and hadn't opened it so I was ok). So I don't even have it yet, but I'll get it in the proper packaging and not in the Best Buy exclusive packaging. Grrrrrr.... I prefer to shop at Best Buy if I can for something like this and usually their deals are pretty good - but ah well - online wins again! |

Strange stuff. I got mine from amazon, with a nice, boring cardboard case, and of course the dvd holders (those little plastic thingies holding the dvds in place?) were broken for the last two dvds. This has happened the last three times I've ordered multi-disc items from amazon - I think they are going weak protecting the shipments (not worth returning, however).
Did everyone else get a Top Trumps card in their box set? I got Davros... kind of assuming everyone did, but I was curious. |

| | I think that has to be a dyslexic stock clerk reversing the numbers. I got so excited by that price that I marched to my local Best Buy—only to find that the price wasn't $38, but $83. |

Maybe it was a stock clerk who was a secret Doctor Who fan who intentionally mismarked it and had a friend buy it for him. |

| My steel case copy of Series 4 was $69.99 at my local Best Buy. I think the regular price was around $83, but sometimes Best Buy will have a lower inital selling price on some items when they first come out. |

| I can’t seem to find the extra ending to Journey’s End with the Cybermen. How do I access it? |
