Rumor: Season Two to run on SciFi in USA with GALACTICA Views: 1576
     Monday, July 31 2006 @ 11:26 PM EDT
Cinescape, in an article about seaston three of Galactica, reports:

"The pre-Christmas episodes are expected to run with the second season of DOCTOR WHO, while the second half of the season should run with STARGATE."

What do they mean "pre-Christmas?" As in, half the season will show before Christmas 2007? or as in they'll show Series 1 (pre-Christmas Invasion) again with BSG?

It seems rather a difficult scenario. BSG will start late October, the second half of both Stargates in mid-July, and BSG will run straigh through all 20 plus episodes without breaking this season. So BSG will still be showing new episodes when Stargate returns with new episodes. Where do they plan on sticking the Doctor? at the 7pm EST/6pm CST timeslot? That gets very few looks here. At 11pm EST/10pm CST? Same problem; its past primetime.

Of course, I could be counting my weeks wrong, but it seems that the second Series of Doctor Who, including Christmas Invasion needs 3 1/2 months to run. So, I guess they could run the first two months up until Stargate starts, then do the last month & a half (approximately) after the ending of the Stargate seasons, which is usually in March or April.

They're talking about the first half of BSG season 3 running before Christmas. The second half of SG-1/Atlantis should run after New Years, between BSG season 3 parts 1 & 2.

I assume DW will start with BSG season 3 and be finished before they start running the second halves of SG-1 and Atlantis.

Does seem a bit confusing, dunnit? Laughing Out Loud

It boils down to this as the Sci-Fi Fridays schedule (date ranges are approximate and based on unconfirmed speculation or secondary sources-no confirmation yet from Sci-Fi):

    July thru Sep. 2006
    - Stargate SG-1 (Season Ten - first half)
    - Stargate Atlantis (Season Three - first half)

    Oct. thru Dec. 2006
    - Doctor Who (Series Two (2006))
    - Battlestar Galactica (Season Three - first half)

    Jan. thru Mar. 2007
    - Stargate SG-1 (Season Ten - second half)
    - Stargate Atlantis (Season Three - second half)
    - Battlestar Galactica (Season Three - second half)

You mean Season Two might be aired in 2006 on Sci Fi?

That is what the current rumour mill and industry coverage seems to say.

That would be cool. I have seen every episode, but it would be nice to watch them on TV. One of these days I'm going to figure out how to get my comptuer to play on my TV. LOL

Well, before I got my pc with the S video out (which I connect to a 27 inch tv and use the DiVX player, then make full screen so it is like watching the British version), I used to burn them to DVD, and then play it on my dvd player connected to my tv. I then would give the copy away to a friend who has trouble "getting it from other means". I keep the avi files in case someone wants a copy.

Set-top DVIX capable DVD players are a wonderful thing. Smile

Philips DVP642 cost me $60.00 at walmart and plays DivX DVDs nicely.

I just cut them as computer files to my DVD writer, and it works fine.

I love my DVP642! You don't even have to have a DVD writer! It will play avi's and mpeg's burned onto a CD-R!

Is this one also region free? I'm looking for a player that will play DivX as well as region free. Any ideas? (& yes, completely off topic)

There's an easy hack for it - has worked fine for me.

So many Doctor Who fans in Toronto have a Phillips DP 642 that the Toronto Doctor Who Tavern could be renamed to 642 Users Group.
